Good maoning. Boy do I need a vent today! I chuffin` do!

Feeling disgusting and `orrible today! Why?

Well, 3 days ago my wet floor collapsed in the middle! A dip had developed over a couple of weeks and cos thubby was indisposed with his RA, he couldnt sort it. As some may recall, he is the world`s best DIYer…well in our house anyroad!

So my shower chair kept getting stuck in this rut (I`m sure you all know that feeling, eh?) The gap twixt the tiles was widening, letting more and more water disappear down it. Then one morning this week, I needed 2 showers of longer than usual duration, due to my wonderful bowels playing tricks on me (oh isnt this lark a hoot?). Then sis took the pan out of the shower chair, as it too was overflowing with water and yeuky stuff, when she dropped it.

Well there we were in the midst of Lake Niagara. Water and yeuck sploshing everywhichway it could! What did me and sis do? We only started chuffin` laffin!!! I flicked clean water at her, she got a cup in the kitchen and filled it with cold water and dowsed me with it!

Talk about a pantomime!

Right, time to behave and sort this lot out.

Yes, it was the day after that the floor gave way.can you wonder I ask? No, of course not!

So poor hubby started investigating and yeh, what a chuffin` mess under the tiles. The floor joist and boards were wet through and some were crumbling! he pulled the lot up…not all floorboards and joists, but tiles.

Yesterday he went to buy a piece of vinalay…50 squid, plus 20 squid for the glue and stuff. He laid it on the lounge floor to let it settle…he measured where the loo and basin were…checked hgis measurements and cut the shapes out.

He took the vynalay into the bathroom and let out several expletives…argghh .chufff xhei3jm! He`d only cut it wrong!

He looked so sick! We pondered a while and thought about buying a new piece…nah, pennies would not permit that, I`m afraid.

So he laid the flooring down and added a separate off-cut to match. Today he is sticking it down.

So let`s hope no more Niagara falls now, eh?

Of course, this means the shower has been out of order for a few days and boy! do I need a shower? Yes, I chuffin do!

Oh Poll what a carry on. Don’t worry we will put nose pegs on eh??? I have just had a bath lift from OT and it doesn’t fit our very deep bath properly!!! Waiting of another one which will hopefully fit better!!! Oh the joys of keeping clean… Keep warm in this very cold weather. luv Linda x

Had a much needed shower this morning and the new floor behaved itself!

I did think about having a bath put back in, but hubby would probably drown me in exasperation!

Hi Poll,

You know it’s the way you tell your stories to us that has me in stitches. Having said that I really do feel for you and the problems you and hubby are going through. It must be really hard for hubby woth RA and I could just picture in my minds eye your ‘play’ fight with your sister. Hope it’s all sorted now and you feel clean.

Thanks all for your replies. Damned shame about the lino match up.it is in a very prominent position, as you enter the bathroom and stands out like a sore thumb. Still, ours is hardly a show home now, with all the chunks of wood, wallpaper and stuff that I keep knocking out as I fly past in my wheelie.............wheres that chuffin` speed dial gone?
