Just called my local firm to ask if they do wheelchair taxis to which he replied yes but it will cost me double fare. I asked why this is and he said because it takes more time. Surely this is discrimination and they should not be allowed to charge more?
Anyone else come across this??

I use wheelchair taxis all the time and they don’t cost more. Double fare is taking the p***!

Me Again!
Just checked your profile and saw that you are in Bradford (not the back of beyond) I use Streamline here in Leeds. Black and White Cabs, not private hire. I find that they have a higher number of accessible vehicles and are more reliable than the smaller more local outfits (and they don’t charge me double) There are Licenced taxis in your area I’m sure.
