What a week!

Lee’s been away with work so ive kind of had to fend for myself…and between me and Frazer and the children and Carers ive not done so bad. He’s back tomorrow and then on Friday we go away to Centre parcs in the lakes for a weekend…just me Lee and Frazer as a belated anniversary treat. The week was tricky at first…at the beginning i felt overwhelmed, Molly was quite emotional and id been left dealing with the aftermath of a meltdown…a meltdown is like a tantrum in an autistic person it cant be helped they reach explosion and it all spills out…so it resulted in spitting and swearing at one of our friends in public…not a good feeling i had a lot of explaining to do not everyone gets it but i think it will blow over. Then on Monday i fell…I fall everyday inside but not usually when i’m out and about…it was probably my own fault my Carer had recently passed her driving test and unfortunately parked to close to a car …we didnt hit it or scratch it it was just impossible for the other person to get in…unfortunately she came back and shouted at us in my anxiety over the situation i got out to explain that we were trying leave space for the wheelchair, but as i fell to my knees she was even nastier and told us that she would be late for work now…what a mean woman! I hope i never meet her again. Well today was much better me and Frazer went to Morrisons …and everyone was lovely…no spitting no swearing and no mean lady, just a lovely walk through the autumn leaves with the sun shining and lots of attention and fuss for Frazer …everybody i Morrisons loves us even the man at the till reopened it just for us.

Hi Michelle

First of all, you have done well to cope with Lee away, so give yourself a pat on the back, it’s not easy for you, so well done.

The person in the car park is ignorant and ill mannered so take no notice of them, easier said than done, I know that feeling, but they win if they upset you. I find a few swear words, said to myself, not out loud, helps me to cope, I reckon I could make a rugby team blush!

My daughter works with children with lots of disabilities, autism being one of them, and as she says it is so misunderstood and people jump to conclusions through ignorance of the condition, so I feel for you.

Dont be hard on yourself, you do a remarkable job in difficult circumstances, don’t let them get to you.

Good for you for coping in your own…you and Fraser that is!

As for that nasty woman, well she has to live her nasty self 24/7! She’ll get her comeuppance one day!

Good on you, as for the nasty woman, rise above it. As Poll says, just consider karma will deal with that!

Hello, Michelle.

You’ve obviously been verging on the heroic this week. I’ve had a few set-tos with people in Froddy. It’s been mostly to do with parking my Mark 4 Cortina (fast, quiet and rusty) outside their house. One of my piano pupil’s mums declared them as all fur coat and no…(you know the rest). Hope your stay at Centre Parcs will be good medicine.

[/quote] My mother (born and raised in Wallasey) used to sniff at the people who had “made it” to Frodsham etc as “all crepe de chine nighties on a flannelette income”. My father (born and raised in Liverpool - it was a mixed marriage) used to say “grapes in the fruit bowl and nobody ill”. Yes, I was brought up in the Merseyside version of 1960s Coronation Street.

Hope you have/had a great time at Center Parcs. Not cheap but I loved the odd break there. Very disabilty friendly too. Hope Frazer behaves with the squirrels!

Michelle,

I hope you had a brilliant relaxing time at Centerparcs. It sounds like you dealt really well with everything while Lee was away. Nice one.

Life under any circumstances is tough enough for any of us without having to deal with mean people, I hope that she might have learned something on reflection. When any of us have a bad / tough day we should not get stroppy (easier said than done but I have found that when I am mellow, I feel better in myself)

All the best Mick
