Oh Julien, please, please, please donāt start that up. Please, I canāt bear it.
Sue
please refer to the clash
if i stay there will be trouble, if i leave there will be double.
so come on and let me know
should i stay or should i go.
I guess it will take a long time before we know if our votes were right or wrong!
Pollx
Excellent suggestion Carole. But then Iād always say that if you reference the Clash.
Sue
ARGH!!!
Is there a vote happening? Not heard anything on the news!!
At least MS hasnāt affected my sarcasm!
Well if we get the vote wrong I guess weāll be Up The Junction!!
Ha!
Pollx
I vote that we develop time travel and 20/20 hindsight.
Maybe General De Gaulles was trying to do us a favour by trying to keep us out all those years ago.
On a less silly note I have huge fears for the NHS whichever way the vote goes.
PS in my humble opinion MOST politicians are short term self serving pond life, not sure I can trust any of them; sadly
Mick
Oh yes, letās do that.
And re the pond scum, totally agreed.
Sue
None of the arguments are worth listening to. Surely the answer can be worked out from basic common sense.
How big is the British Isles? How big is mainland Europe? Close the borders!
What country developed the British Standard system that the Systeme Internationale is based on? I wonder why people think standard of goods wonāt be regulated properly if we leaveā¦when WE showed the world how to do it and WE are the benchmark?
Donāt get me started, Iāll go on all night! Thereās moreā¦thereās much moreā¦
Flo for Go!
Thing is, you can use the āhow big is Britain, how big is Europeā thing to argue for remaining, as it will be much better for trade (and I know the Exit camp claim making our own trade deals will be a doddle, but everyone Iāve heard in the media whoās got experience of trade negotiations say the opposite & weāll come off worse).
Iām sure I could match all your arguments for leaving, but Iām bored of listening to the debate in the news, and I certainly donāt want to spend my evening having one

The European Medicines Agency is based in the UK and suspect that might change if we leave the EU. Apart from that, a change of Government would improve the issues you are concerned about.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is a decentralised agency of the European Union (EU), located in London. It began operating in 1995. The Agency is responsible for the scientific evaluation, supervision and safety monitoring of medicines developed by pharmaceutical companies for use in the EU.
EMA protects public and animal health in 28 EU Member States, as well as the countries of the European Economic Area, by ensuring that all medicines available on the EU market are safe, effective and of high quality.
EMA serves a market of over 500 million people living in the EU.
Out!! Wonāt elaborate on why as wouldnāt want to upset anyone.
Letās just say I wouldnāt want to live in a refugee camp, which I suspect would happen should we remain in.

i do do think the idear of a (federalised) european state (sorry union) does sound a good thing, but am more conserned about are meds,& will there be enuff room left for us??
any way, wot would Bart say?? or Hommer? we should ask Lisa!!
itāl all come out in the wash!! juju
Itās interesting to note that last night, Conservative MP Sarah Wollaston, a former GP and chair of the health select committee, said sheās switching sides from the leave camp to the remain camp. Her reason is because she believes that leaving will damage the NHS.
Obviously, thatās her opinion, we donāt know for certain if that would happen. But Iām happy to assume she knows more than me about the implications for the NHS.

The EU funds research and development in all countries in the Union - all fields of research. However the UK gets more of that pot of funding than any other member country. If we leave the EU our share of that money will have to go to to the states remaining. University heads were saying this yesterday.
I live in Cardiff. Cardiff University has recently opened the most advamced brain imaging research centre in Europe (CUBRIC - formally opened by the Queen this week It researches lots of neurological conditions and neurological changes in mental health vonditions like schizophrenia. The centre is funded to a great extent by the EU. If we leave that funding will go.
