I guess it will take a long time before we know if our votes were right or wrong!

Excellent suggestion Carole. But then I’d always say that if you reference the Clash.

I vote that we develop time travel and 20/20 hindsight.

Maybe General De Gaulles was trying to do us a favour by trying to keep us out all those years ago.

On a less silly note I have huge fears for the NHS whichever way the vote goes.

PS in my humble opinion MOST politicians are short term self serving pond life, not sure I can trust any of them; sadly

Oh yes, let’s do that.

And re the pond scum, totally agreed.

None of the arguments are worth listening to. Surely the answer can be worked out from basic common sense.

How big is the British Isles? How big is mainland Europe? Close the borders!

What country developed the British Standard system that the Systeme Internationale is based on? I wonder why people think standard of goods won’t be regulated properly if we leave…when WE showed the world how to do it and WE are the benchmark?

Don’t get me started, I’ll go on all night! There’s more…there’s much more…

Flo for Go!

Thing is, you can use the ā€˜how big is Britain, how big is Europe’ thing to argue for remaining, as it will be much better for trade (and I know the Exit camp claim making our own trade deals will be a doddle, but everyone I’ve heard in the media who’s got experience of trade negotiations say the opposite & we’ll come off worse).

I’m sure I could match all your arguments for leaving, but I’m bored of listening to the debate in the news, and I certainly don’t want to spend my evening having one

The European Medicines Agency is based in the UK and suspect that might change if we leave the EU. Apart from that, a change of Government would improve the issues you are concerned about.

http://www.ema.europa.eu/ema/index.jsp?curl=pages/about_us/general/general_content_000235.jsp&mid=

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is a decentralised agency of the European Union (EU), located in London. It began operating in 1995. The Agency is responsible for the scientific evaluation, supervision and safety monitoring of medicines developed by pharmaceutical companies for use in the EU.

EMA protects public and animal health in 28 EU Member States, as well as the countries of the European Economic Area, by ensuring that all medicines available on the EU market are safe, effective and of high quality.

EMA serves a market of over 500 million people living in the EU.

Out!! Won’t elaborate on why as wouldn’t want to upset anyone.

Let’s just say I wouldn’t want to live in a refugee camp, which I suspect would happen should we remain in.

It’s interesting to note that last night, Conservative MP Sarah Wollaston, a former GP and chair of the health select committee, said she’s switching sides from the leave camp to the remain camp. Her reason is because she believes that leaving will damage the NHS.

Obviously, that’s her opinion, we don’t know for certain if that would happen. But I’m happy to assume she knows more than me about the implications for the NHS.

The EU funds research and development in all countries in the Union - all fields of research. However the UK gets more of that pot of funding than any other member country. If we leave the EU our share of that money will have to go to to the states remaining. University heads were saying this yesterday.

I live in Cardiff. Cardiff University has recently opened the most advamced brain imaging research centre in Europe (CUBRIC - formally opened by the Queen this week It researches lots of neurological conditions and neurological changes in mental health vonditions like schizophrenia. The centre is funded to a great extent by the EU. If we leave that funding will go.
