Vitamins!

Hi fellow MSers. Hope you are all ok today x I know there’s another post on here today about vitamins, there must be something in the air.
People I speak to recommend I take evening primrose oil & magnesium. Has anyone taken these and a difference in their fatigue and (for the women) hormones?
Thanks as always, Christina

I do take oil of evening primrose gel tablets and magnesium malate but I swear by very dark chocolate for fatigue.

I have taken magnesium for a good few years and find it helps to ease problems with spasm & cramp. Not noticed improvement with fatigue, but any exercise you can manage is likely to help.

Hi, I take evening primrose oil and it helps with PMS (was told sage helps and it helps a couple of friends but does nothing for me) I used to take magnesium but found it made me very loose in the bowel compartment so I stopped - didn’t notice any difference really. Ali

Hi,
I generally dont take vitamins, but my neuro has recommended 4000iu Vitamin D3 daily. Nearly gave my GP a turn when they saw the dose, but the neuro’s do this all the time so they know what they’re doing ( I hope), so check before you take too many different things in case you end up with reactions occurring.

I avoid taking tablets and supplements where I feel I can manage it via my diet, so I currently only take vitamin D, although not the highest dose.

I also swear by dark chocolate for fatigue. Above 70% is best. I also drink cocoa (with a spoonful of mint hot chocolate to sweeten it).

I also think that eating berries (blackberry’s, raspberry’s, blueberries) with a Kefir strawberry yoghurt (Aldi) and a sprinkle of grape nuts for crunch and a nut mix from Aldi for breakfast helps with vitamin intake, including magnesium for fatigue as well as general health and constipation. It’s also really enjoyable!!!

As well as all the vitamins and minerals it provides, it also gives me an enormous sense of well being to know that I am doing my bit in helping myself feel as good as I can.
