Vitamins advise.

I currently am taking 5mg of folic acid 3 times a week, as my folic acid was low. I also take 1000 vit d. I have been advised not to to take any more folic acid. Any advice of other vitamins that anyone takes. I have rrms.

  • Increase your D to 3000IU (75mcg)/ day in summer and 6000 IU in winter. MS folks tend to have problems absorbing Vitamin D so a remedy is to over-prescribe.
  • B12 5000 mcg/ day.
  • Co-enzyme Q10
  • Magnesium
  • Omega 3 fish oil
  • and maybe a cheap/ basic multivitamins as a catch-all.
    I’m currently looking at adding Turmeric (as Curcumin) too.

Yes, you do have to be careful with folic acid - hence why it is only prescribed for a short while.

If you go for vitamin D supplement do consider taking Vit K2 (MK4 or MK7) with it, otherwise calcium may start being deposited in the wrong places. And also magnesium with it (magnesium citrate or one of the more absorbable ones - magnesium oxide is poorly absorbed, so avoid that one, it just gives you more expensive loose stools!)
