My knees have become very stiff & sore over the last week & my ankles are also sore, do you think this could be spasticity or just something else. I can walk around sometimes painfree, then sit down & get back up & feel like I am about 90. Just wondering if its a new symptom or not.

My right knee is so stiff and painful. Having Botox injections at the end of the month, so I am hoping that relieves the stiffness.

Hi Pollypocket71, I hope u get some relief, do u think it’s spasticity & did ur walking deteriorate, I’m just trying to figure out if this is the start of a new symptom that may affect my walking eventually
My walking is terrible and have to furniture walk and use a wheelchair outside. My knee has only started becoming worse lately. Not sure why.

l take magnesium and also use the magnesium oil to massage into my joints to help with spasticity. Certainly help bedtime to relieve those restless painful legs.
I tried the magnesium oil and found it made my legs unbearably hot and didn’t help much.

I’m exactly the same. Can I ask - are you normally a tense person, do you find it difficult to relax your body. Cause that is what I am like and that seems to be the problem.
My knees and ankles always feel stiff and the muscles feel like I did a heavy weights session in the gym the day before. As I write I’m sitting with my legs on a stool but my ankles and feet feel like they are wrapped in a tight bandage or caught in a vice. I have been to physio and they think the stiffness is due to tight hamstrings so they have given me stretching exercises.
I have decided that I am going to try yoga as a way to relax, to improve core stability and hopefully remove some of the stiffness.
I have always been a tense person and I think whats happened with me is that my legs are overcompensating for my lack of balance and do too much work. That is what has cause the problem with my hamstrings. I do a lot of dancing so thats just strengthened my legs and its allowed my core to weaken in return.
I’m not sure how much that has helped - my physio has been teaching me loads of stuff so it might be worthwhile going to your doctor to see if you can be referred for a few sessions. You might have the same problem as me.

Hi, have you tried baclofen…it does relax muscles. Botox could also help.

I have recently started running as i am training for the Leeds 10K in July. I havent been for a run in over a week now because my knees are just so so sore. I dont know if i have over done the running or not or if this is an MS thng. The pain started to get better a few days ago but know it is bad again which is making me thing MS related. Any help?
Muscles and joints need magnesium. Good State lonic chloride is good. Also magnesium malate and put a mug full of epsom salts in your bath.
