Hope you’re all enjoying the weather. I’m afraid I’m not. I feel useless, useless just like a melting lump of Lard. I have no energy not even to put my flip flops on to hang the washing out. If it hadn’t been for lovely hubby I’d be flat on the floor by now. The temperature here is around 29 and rising and I’m sinking.
Sorry for my little grumble. Hope you’re all doing as well as you can.
I got an air con unit last year and it is a lifesaver. The year before I basically hibernated in my living room all summer, barely any clothes on, curtains closed, windows open, absolutely miserable. This year I’m still in my living room, but I’m COOL! Wonderful!
More gristle than lard here, but no use whatsoever to man or beast, that’s for sure. I’m just doing the minimum (and defining that as "nothing’) and looking forward to a change in the weather. Alison x
You are not a useless lump of lard. You contribute, make our lives happier for the input and are always there to brighten up our day, even when your not feeling your best.
We each feel useless at times, however our positive sides make up for that feeling of uselessness.
I luv ya
bren
xx
ps: you can always strip off to see if a whaff of air cools you down
Thanks Pam, Paul, Karen, Alison, Bren, and Jaki for all your replies which are much appreciated. The idea of an air con sounds like a lovely thought. Will have a look around, so thanks for the tip.
The weather did affect me pretty badly, today its raining with a cool breeze and what a difference it has made. I feel like I’m superman lol.
I hope your symptoms improve, there are bands you can buy for your wrists and head which you put in the fridge and use when you feel drained they help you keep cool. rizzo gave me a link to order them but I deleted my messages for some strange reason without even noting the link.
I think the air conditioner is the best idea, but the bands would be a wonderful addition when you are out and about.
Hopefully the weather will stay cool ay my end for the next few days otherwise superman will have to retire lol
Thanks fjear, Tomorrow the forecast is the same as today, unfortunately I’m not superwoman, LOL otherwise I’d fly to where you are…oh for rain and a breeze. I’ll keep an eye out for these bands, I expect Boots Chemist would do them. Thanks once again.

Those bands are from FRIO, but there are other suppliers too - have a look on-line for cooling bands or words to that effect. I don’t think you can get them in the high street shops, but could be wrong.
If you’re good at sewing you could always make your own. They are just fabric filled with special crystals that absorb huge amounts of water relative to their size. It’s the water evaporation that keeps the wearer cool. I think you have to buy the crystals in bulk though! (I’m rubbish at sewing so I never properly investigated!)
Come to sunny Scarborough, you lot. It’s cloudy, cold and dismal actually and I’d give anything to see a bit of sun and feel a bit of warmth. Makes me feel great. Having said that, my carer ran me a bath this morning which was too hot, and I now feel like a useless dish-rag and have done absolutely nothing all day. Isn’t MS weird temperature-wise? Hope you all lose your warm weather soon (and hope I get it instead).
Thanks Karen, unfortunarely I can’t even sew a button on anymore, he, he, there is good in ms LOL, but will have a little google instead, whoops that sounds rude, sorry!!
Hope it’s been easier for you today Poll.
Thanks for the info Floppy, not to sure about wearing a tie though!
Belinda give me half a chance and I’d be there, athough today hasn’t been so humid, still hot but with a slight breeze.Looking forward to Friday they recon rain.
Seriously thank you all for your replies and help. Take care and keep cool.
