Hi
I was diagnosed with MS in September 1997. I continued to work right up to 2019 when it began to be a struggle and was granted medical retirement.
I am going on holiday to Barbados in January :airplane::hot_face::beach_umbrella: and wanted to know who people use for travel insurance?

Hi, I went with staysure. Not sure what they are like as so far never had to use them. I looked on a comparison site

Also insured with Staysure on an annual policy. Me (60, PPMS) and Dad (91). Ask me again in a few days: my Dad broke his arm on our cruise, so we are waiting to see how cooperative they are going to be in processing the claim.

Rule #1 with insurance. Keep all your records and get receipts for everything.

Were staysure any good? I didn’t need to claim, just wondered if I need cover in future x

Yes, Staysure were good on the whole. We claimed Β£800, less Β£65 excess = Β£735. One figure was estimated (a non-Sterling transaction) and they paid Β£665 which meant they chipped at the total a bit more but not by much. My Dad was just glad to get it over with so accepted the payout. Process was fully automated: filled out claim, uploaded receipts, submitted, got paid.

This claim was for an accident, not connected to a medical condition, so it will be interesting by how much the premium rises for next year…

Good to know, thanks
