Hi, I’ve recently started reading “The Paleo Approach: Reverse Autoimmune Disease, Heal Your Body” by Sarah Ballantyne. This is a beautiful book - a bit like a great, big, colourful Encyclopedia. Absolutely amazing. Worth a look. Heather
Thanks heather, been looking at good books, recipes etc you are a wealth of knowledge please keep posting about this. Also can u advise about a good water filter xxx
I love her book. I am on quite a few Paleo forums and the Autoimmune Paleo (AIP) has helped so many people. Paleomom is also an excellent resource online and Micki Trescott has a new book coming out based on Sarah’s work
I’ve not heard of that but I think anything that makes people look at their lifestyle is great,
I have been paleo for 2.5yrs now and there is no looking back for me, it makes so much sense.
So everyone who’s has secondary progressive MS follows this can now ride a bike?
I doubt it will work for everyone, nothing ever seems to but she does seem to be demonstrating repeatability with others so it must be worth serious consideration. There are not that many options with MS that actualy work.
Zoe - unfortunately, I can’t suggest a water filter as I’ve not achieved what I want yet, which ideally is a reverse osmosis filter. We had someone come out to take a look, see if we could fit one in alongside our water softener, but they never sent us the quote. I think they saw the wheelchair and decided I wasn’t serious. At the moment, we have a separate tap in the kitchen which provides filtered hard water, and I then put that through an alkaline water filter. Not great, as I really want to be fluoride-free. The Paleo Approach is a brilliant book, really informative about autoimmune disease. If there 's a way I can help myself by just changing what I eat, I’m all for it. I 've been Paleo for 7 months now, and one side effect is that my hair has gone really curly! I’ve now gone AIP over Lent. Seemed like a good opportunity. Heather
