Wonder where she’s being buried. Apparently there’s a spare plot going cheap in a car park in Leicester.

ironic that margaret thatcher introduced DLA did she not? and our now glorious leader, Mr Cameron has decide to change it to PIP which everyone knows is just a cost cutting exercise! roll on the revolution!

What a wonderful funeral it was, so dignified with many thousands paying their respects as MT’s cortege wound its way through the capital. Fantastic that the clapping and cheering of her supporters literally drowned out the boos of the protestors. Very few drunken louts as well. At least, not in London. However, a demonstrator threw a bottle at a carriage horse, how brave.
A cost cutting exercise? it must run into miilions/billions to implement.
poll
The protestors were damned if they did and damned if they didn’t. If they were vocal, they were described as “leftie louts” and if they were quietly protesting, that was treated as “so where were all the protestors then?”. No amount of right wing press propaganda or BBC one sided reporting will ever change my mind about her- the ruination of this country.
I quite agree , I hadn’t realised a bottle had been thrown at a horse though , it was not shown on telly though they did sort of mention something ‘might’ have been thrown and upset the horses , absolutely disgusting and dangerous thing to do ,
Yes, I was proud that the protesters proved how dignified they can be. That is how protests should be on these occasions Now we need to get on with the real work of stamping out Thatcherism. Pat
there’s no pride or dignity in attacking animals with bottles
As we are all in the same boat, how about we forget Thatcher and all be nice to one another instead.
LOTS of LOVE,
Adrian xx
Did I say that? Please stop being provocative! Pat
yes your comment was in reply to susie27 who had said that a bottle was thrown at a horse
looks like you have to subscribe to and quote the guardian to be in this boat ? , and I don’t subscribe to ‘any’ newspaper anymore !! there are a few people (as was apparent at the funeral) that don’t want to forget Mrs T , and think she did a good job over all , there has been a barrage of unpleasant comments in this post over the last few days or more , but apparently when I defend animals I’m being provocative ? , but generally I’m all for being ‘nice’ to one another Adrian
You don’t need a subscription to read The Guardian online and it is perfectly free. Funnily enough, the Murdoch owned Times is only available via subscription and I understand The Daily Torygraph is soon to follow this example.
This a very good article on how Thatcher’s defence review was a factor in causing the Falkland War. Falklands war 30 years on and how it turned Thatcher into a world celebrity | Falkland Islands | The Guardian
well the thread is only friendly and humorous if you are totally anti MrsT, ? , after all the thread is called Thatcher is dead ? which I find neither friendly or humourous , I “was” defending the horses ? and can’t see why you think not ? , I guess any opinion on this thread that doesn’t run with the general consensus will be deemed antagonistic , and as for not taking any notice of me from now on , I don’t expect you ever did Pat ? anyway , perhaps we should move on and agree to differ ?
do they do The Sun online ? LOL
p.s. you’re assuming these articles are totally correct ?
pps. no I didn’t read it , I think it’s too late for me to study history now , I don’t mean in the day LOL , I mean in life , but thanks for the link anyway whammel, I was never a newspaper reader on the whole before MS , so I doubt I’ll start now

Protestors being dignified?? What a laugh!! Don’t confuse their muted demonstration with dignity, they were simply the tiny minority being silenced by the vast majority who were out in force to salute the great lady.
If you want to eradicate so called ‘Thatcherism’ (stupid meaningless term) you had better hope that Blair isn’t ever elected Labour leader again…apart from being a war criminal he is also the epitome of capitalism with his £20+ million property portfolio, the most blatant champagne socialist ever.
Couldn’t hear the drums for the sound of “waste of money”. A great day for the dignified protesters. They did our country proud
