Can you take these together…? My instinct says its fine… as Im sure the Dr would have seen gabapentin on the screen when she prescribed them… but I had stopped taking the gabapentin… and need to start taking it again and am now on citalopram too.

The concern with citalopram and gabapentin is that both of them suppress the nervous system so if taken together, they might do it too much (i.e. 1 + 1 = 3). Surely not always a bad thing if you are taking gabapentin for pain mind you?!

Hi,
I am on 900mg of Gabapentin a day and 40mg of Citalopram and it is prescribed for me by my neuro. No problems here. But as with all drug related questions, if in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
