I know that ‘night sweats’ are a known issue with MS but mine are so terrible at the moment I’m desperate for help. I sweat so much in my sleep nearly every night, that I’m drenched from head to toe, the sheets are stuck to me and my pillow and duvet are sodden, even the top side of the duvet feels wet. I don’t feel hot so it’s not the sort of sweating you get when exercising etc. I wake up cold and the cold wet sheets don’t help with this! Even my shins get soaked which is bizarre. Does anyone have any tips on this subject? Drugs to stop sweating? Causes? Thanks
If you, like me, are a lady of a Certain Age, then you will doubtless have excluded lack of oestrogen as the obvious suspect before thinking of MS as the culprit?
Welcome to the forum!
Yes I agree it could definitely be hormonal so good idea to get this checked!
Thanks for the welcome!
I did wonder if it was possibly peri menopausal, although I’m ‘only’ 40. I had my hormone levels checked by GP and they’re all normal, so we can rule that out for now at least.
So…any suggestions until I can blame my hormones would be really welcome!
Thanks
Does your GP have any ideas? Drenching night sweats with no obvious hormonal origin are something that GPs are generally keen to get to the bottom of. It’s not something I tend to associate with MS, I must admit, but of course my knowledge of MS is largely limited to my personal experience.
I’m not sure if I’ve actually asked my GP but guess I will do now. Thanks!
