Hi
Iv had an ms diagnosis since 2016 but now my local ms specialist is questioning that.
I have asjed my gp for a referral to a specialist in another area.
I will not ho back and see tge licsl ms specialist because i have lost confidence in them.
Has anyobe had a referral made to a different area to where they live.
I am dissaponted in general at my ms swevices. There is only one specialist who is on annual leave or sick leave with no replacement
I wonder how many peopke fet missdiagnosed.
Thank you
Christine
My MS nurse helped me move to a consultant in another hospital. I’d speak with them.
Hi @christine1
I’ve never felt I was initially misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis, my consultant before even asked if I would like to undergo further investigation at the National, where he also practiced.
I declined even though I eventually switched to there in the end, just because I kept it hush hush as my MS became quiescent or benign for about 8 years, after initial dx.
The good thing is patient’s choice, on the NHS nowadays, so you can choose if you want to have your care at an alternative NHS trust, instead of your current one.
Hope you have a better experience at your new hospital trust,
good luck,
JP
