Suffering in hot weather

Hi everyone, I hope you are coping with this hot weather. It is really causing me to suffer, does anyone have any suggestions that might help to manage my RRMS?Thank you

Tbh when it’s this hot I try to stay in the cool shade with the fan on. I also suffer with hyperhidrosis when it’s hot. I brought a neck fan that Hank dog spoke about, and it’s been a life saver. This is only my 2nd summer of struggling with the heat, before I use to love the heat.
I do believe you can buy cooling tops , I tend to not go out when it’s really hot.
Sorry I can’t help anymore.

I do sleep with the fan and try to stay cool but my legs are so painful and are like lead. Many thanks for the reply

Do you take any meds for neuropathic pain? As normal pain relief won’t help that sort of pain. The excessive heat exacerbate your symptoms, you could try a cool shower/bath before bed.

I do not take any strong medication, perhaps I need to get in contact with my MS nurse, thank you for replying.

Tbh I don’t like taking medication, but when you’re in pain needs must. I’ve recently started gabapentin for neuropathic pain in my legs and left arm from spasticity. I have to say it’s easing the stabbing pains I was experiencing and allowing me to sleep. So it’s well worth you speaking to your ms nurses as they can assist with this for you. Hope you manage to get some relief.

I have an ice-vest (like a waistcoat with pockets for small ice packs back and front) that I can wear if I’m pottering in the garden or exercising. I also have an ice cap, they are made for migraine relief, but work wonders for MS related heat issues.
