Starting to worry I might have ms

I had 2 weeks of vertigo in October

and then at the end of November I woke one morning to back pain and by the end of the week I had excruciating hip and leg pain in my left hand side with a numb right toe

just before Christmas I felt like I was getting better to the extent I had 3 days pain free

but after the three days I woke up in excruciating pain in my right hip with pain jetting down my whole leg with numbness from my right knee to toe

that lasted till the start of Feb were I started to feel like I am getting better again

last two weeks I’ve felt like I’m starting to get better. But still had the feeling of muscle weakness in my legs and pain across the upper thigh/lower buttocks and I had crazy eye lid twitching for 4 days

now the excruciating pain has returned to my left hip with pain jetting down my left leg

lower leg numbness on right leg has gone but now the right hand side of my fanny and right hand side of my bottom is numb. I can’t feel my self peeing or pooing

ive been in and out of the docs flat out and they just keep hovering me more pain killers. And they think it’s odd that my pain keeps moving

Oh yes I also had numbness in both hands and arms last year for 3 months which the doc said at the time I had carpil tunnel syndrome. And also stuff that I haven’t mentioned to the doc before would be bouts of poor balance and sometimes getting my words mixed up or not pronouncing words properly the odd time

there doing a lumbar mri on Tuesday to check my disks. None of the docs have mentioned MS

but if I did have ms could the tell from the MRI lumber that I had it even if they were not looking specifically for ms but a disk

I don’t know weather or not to mention to the doc that I think I may have ms.

Hello

The problem with MS is that there are a wide variety of symptoms. So you could list all your symptoms and come up with a self diagnosis of MS, that could be something else entirely.

So no one on here can help you out with regard to looking at your symptoms and saying, ‘oh yes it does sound like MS’, or alternatively, ‘oh no, it can’t be because you have or haven’t got X or Y’.

It’s doubtful that MS could be diagnosed from a lumbar MRI. That sounds more like the doctors are looking at your symptoms being caused by something lower down in your back, maybe neurological, or maybe not.

Perhaps you could ask your GP for a referral to a neurologist. You could go through all of your symptoms, they could take a history and do a neurological examination, then refer you for neurological tests if they feel they are warranted.

Sorry not to be ale to give you any more helpful information.

Sue is a very good ssource of ssensible information. There are many sensory problems like pain and numbness in the legs that can be caused by sciatic nerve problems. Unless your docs have mentioned ms then I’d put it from your mind.

Google is not your friend. Living well and reducing stress is far more important than worrying.
