Spring in Pennsylvania (USA)

Hi Norasmom I was getting a bit worried about you, hope you are ok.
I love the horse picture but I’m with you on the red plant, not something I’ve come across or would want to.

Awww. Thank you Purplebubbles, but I’m fine. We’ve just had frequent downpours, a horrible heatwave, several minor national holidays, and a battery of medical tests for my son that didn’t go well. I spent most of yesterday in bed because I’m just so tired of the constant running.

I haven’t been able to get any photos lately, because I’ve had to stop feeding the birds. We have a small raccoon that’s been coming in and getting into everything, and he doesn’t look healthy. We still have rabies here, so that’s a worry.

Have you been able to play with your camera yet?

The red plant is a sundew which is carnivorous but tiny. About the size of a small daisy. They catch tiny flies with a sticky sap. As for the ferns they are about waist height.

Hi Norasmom sounds like a lot going on. Firstly I hope your son is ok.
The weather here has only been changeable nothing too dramatic. I’ve had a bit of a play with my camera but i seriously need to read the instructions as it keeps taking a sequence of pictures instead of one and I haven’t a clue how to review them

When I get bored of reading the instruction manual I look for Youtube video guides whch can be very helpful.

Now that is a good idea, I am way more likely to watch instructions. Thanks

Oh, he’s fine. He’s a Limbo-Lander, though, so we deal with the endless frustration. He has IBS, early liver failure with no known cause, vitamin & hormone deficiencies, malabsorption of nutrients in his stomach & intestines, bi-weekly migraines that last 3 days, and multiple positive tests for both Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis but not enough of either for a diagnosis. We’re waiting on yet another specialist.

He went in for a simple round of blood tests, and his veins shut down and then he passed out. I was in the parking lot waiting for him, with my phone sitting at home, so I had no idea that all that was happening until he eventually staggered out to the parking lot and informed me that I’d have to drive us home. THAT was fun, because I voluntarily gave up driving several years ago. Ah, the joys of chronic illnesses!

Jeez that’s a lot to handle for both of you! He has no idea who I am but give him a hug from me.
I have a friend with Lupus and we joke that Lupus and MS spend their days sitting on a bench trying to out do each other.
Over here we call that sod’s law, if you had taken your phone you wouldn’t have needed it. I bet you drove really really slowly.

Oh, I wish I wish I was there. We’re in the middle of a heatwave here, and it’s impossible to sleep at night even with air conditioning. It was 36C in the shade here this afternoon.

Way too hot for me. We just woke up to 11 C fog and drizzle with a lazy breeze. Yesterday was better!

Still enjoying stunning scenery with occasional good weather!

I am trying to share my good fortune so you don’t need to be jealous! Here is a view we saw after 22:00 on our way back to the cottage after an amazing dinner.

Erigal mountain tallest in Donegal but not even in top10 for Ireland

Wow that is stunning.

It was a bit surreal : like a painted backdrop to a 1950s B movie!

These are beautiful, Mick! I’m going to show up on your doorstep one of these days.

I tried getting photos of the deer in my backyard tonight, but I missed seeing the ones off to the edge and wound up spooking all of them. I did manage to catch a glimpse of 3 fawns in various sizes.

This is a coneflower that magically grew beside my mother’s house. She never planted it, and as far as we can tell this is just a single plant.

Lovely flowers. It sounds like you are enjoying the wildlife too. Nature is pretty impressive despite what we do.
All the best Mick
