Every time I finish antibiotic I feel ok 4 days later the phlegm and cough runny nose reappears and it’s dark. Does it sound like I keep getting infections ? As a result my. Ms always feels worse. Thanks Emma
Yep, that sounds like an infection. My asthma nurse tells me if the phlegm is clear that’s okay but if it’s dark then it’s a sign of infection. You probably need a longer course on anti-bs or stronger ones as the short courses you have had aren’t killing the infection off completely. However, trying to tell your GP how to do his job properly tactfully is a whole different area … (my mum had this problem once with a leg infection but luckily she saw her usual GP the second time and he was the one who said the previous GP should have given her stronger anti-bs as he (usual GP) knew mum’s history with streptococcus)
I think I need to stay on them permanently. She thinks I’m maybe allergic to something too. I don’t know I’ve given up lol. Em x

I’m now on a 16 day course of antibiotics to start to kill the infection. My throat is red and swollen and my glands are really up so guessing there is an infection. I start to feel good well better after 5 day course then they’re finished. And back to square one. This is about batch 5th since Christmas. Thanks shazzie
Sorry you are feeling so rough. 16 days sounds a long time or do you mean you have been taking them for 16 days already? Sorry I feel a little confused. When I finish this lot it will be 14 days of antibiotics. Big hugs Barney

Hopefully the longer course will finally kill off the infection and that will be the end of it, Em. Fingers crossed. Hope you feel better soon. My glands are also up but they come up with just a common cold and have done ever since I had glandular fever at age 30. Tracey x
I had glandular fever at my wedding. It’s weird I moved into my house got glandular fever, was still after 4 months missed my wedding dance. Then me and hubby was separating and I get glandular fever. I think it’s my house haha x
Get ms not glandular fever and I mean it literally struck the day we decided we separating strange feet stuff , he moved out and my right side stopped working . X I really need to start proof reading what a write
I always thought green is normal cold, brown is very bad infection. either way blag some amoxicillin out of GP.
You might also think about having the pneumonia jab

Doesn’t sound nice at all. My glands swell up at the slightest thing, there not fussy at all. It must be horrible for you. I hope this course finally kills the germs. I have to be up early tomorrow and just typical my copaxone injection is being a pain do distracting myself reading on here. Hope you start to feel better soon. Barney
