Found out this morning that my sister has wrote a letter to the council requesting a house as she is pregnant, and has mentioned the fact that i have MS in the letter and that things may be an obstruction to me, now i understand that they MAY but what has annoyed me is the fact i feel my illness has been used an excuse to help her out, and the fact that i wasnt spoken to about whether it was okay for her to mention the situation with me. I only found out through bringing a random conversation up with my mum…But yeah rant over lol
I can understand where you are coming from, she should have discussed it with you first, but she didn’t so you have to turn it around and think to yourself ‘at least someone close to me is going to benefit from this sh***y disease even if I don’t’ and feel smug about it and don’t forget - she now owes you one!

I agree with you: I wouldn’t like this either, unless the tactic was discussed with me first, and I gave it my blessing. I wouldn’t like to be used as someone’s “excuse” to get higher priority - especially when I was not seeking it for myself.
Do you actually live with your sister, or is she just claiming where she lives now might present a barrier to you visiting? If it’s the latter, I shouldn’t think it would carry much weight anyway. They’re going to consider mainly the needs of those who have to live there - not everyone who might want or need to visit. So I don’t think she will get any extra points for it anyway. But you should, if you were applying for housing on your own account.

She currently lives here with her bf so there is me, my mum, her and her bf…i understand completly that she needs a bigger space as her room is too small for the two of them plus a baby, i origonally agreed to switch rooms as mine is bigger and they were happy with that but are now claiming id be too cramped in a smaller room, but why not have this opinion beforehand?
