Shuddery arms, advise?

Hi, I am undiagnosed had attack a year ago. I have noticed over the past few days that both of my arms feel & look like they have a shudder when moving & reaching out for things. My arms do not feel weak they just have this slight shudder to them which I can feel & see. I don’t think it’s stress or anxiety. Do any of you know if this is an ms thing & what may be causing it? Thanks x

I think that if areas around ligaments and tendons get inflammed, say in the shoulder, I think this can interfere with the way things glide over each other, causing juddering and sticking instead of slipping smoothly past each other but just guessing really.

It might be intention / cerebellar tremor. This can occur in MS, but also in other conditions. You should really see your GP about it.

Hi both, thank you for your replies. Do you know what part or what side of the brain that may be on? I know my original attack was on the left because it affected my right hand & speech & at the time had left two lesions left behind.

The cerebellum isn’t wired the same: it’s right controls the right side of the body and the left, the left. There are parts that can affect the whole body too though. It is responsible for multiple things, including “smoothing” movement.

On this, the cerebellum is the gray, lined bit: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=brain&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&tbo=d&biw=1280&bih=668&tbm=isch&tbnid=eyP-4inUy0RmUM:&imgrefurl=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_brain&docid=3IBpkICUuKiMLM&imgurl=http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1a/Gray728.svg/250px-Gray728.svg.png&w=250&h=178&ei=S_fnUO7xG5Ca0QXWmYCYAw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=2&vpy=186&dur=504&hovh=142&hovw=200&tx=129&ty=91&sig=116530204419083163404&page=1&tbnh=137&tbnw=190&start=0&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0,i:154

There are other brain areas involved in movement control too. The type of tremor often shows where the problem lies.
