Relapse advice from a new MSer!

Hi Guys,
I’ve put a few posts out over time. But I’m completely new to this world got provisional diagnosed a couple of week back but just need lumber puncture to confirm it. Had two MRIs one Aug last year which showed multiple lisions which I can remember ever having an relapse of any kind before hand, and one February this year stating I was Stable. Now since the 14th April I’ve had weakness, numbness ice cold feeling and like I’m walking in stone in my left leg then my arm started shortly after with ice cold feeling and weakness. I was put on a low dose of pregablin to start with which has been upped multiple times to full dose this week.
So what I’m trying to ask and I understand everyone is different due to what MS they have etc but how long does a relapse tend to last? This last week/ 10 days I’ve had some really good days thinking I’m on the other side then the past 48hrs I’ve had to have my meds upped because again I couldn’t feel my left foot, my arm was ice cold and just felt really fatigued. When do you actually know your in recovery? and do you actually get over it? Could I have a weak painful leg for life?

Hi KMT38

As you have noted, there is no single pathway with MS - relapses can come on and go quickly, or come, hang around for a while and go, and some can arrive and never really leave. Not reassuring, I know. One thing to note is the current warm/hot (and thundery) weather we are having which plays havoc with many MSers and their symptoms. Hopefully, when things cool down a bit you will get some relief.
