Public transport & disabled pass

Hi everyone,

I have a disabled persons Freedom Pass but unfortunately cannot use it for travelling to work before 9:30am. I think it’s unfair that I can only use it after the rush hour & cannot travel to work at the same time as non disabled commuters. Just wondering if there’s anything I can do about this and if anyone has successfully challenged this issue with TFL.

I don’t know enough about the Freedom pass but are you sure you can’t use it before 09.30 on buses and underground?

From an internet search on the Disabled Persons Freedom Pass:

London Coverage: Valid 24 hours a day on buses, Tubes, trams, and DLR. Valid on National Rail within London after 09:30 Monday-Friday and all day on weekends.

National Coverage: Valid on local bus services throughout England, generally 09:30 – 23:00 Monday-Friday and anytime on weekends/public holidays.

Might be worth a quick call to TFL just to confirm.

I’ve done a bit more digging and it can be used on the Tube & Buses before 9:30am but not trains.

I don’t travel on the tube at all so will get in touch with southern trains about this.
