How many of us are aware that today is Purple Tuesday? Have you heard of it? It is supposed to be a day when disabled people can shop without barriers.
I wanted to go to a specific shop in my own small town. I even messaged them beforehand to ask about the access. The picture looked good.
It was a craft shop and I wanted to support the little business person.
Could I get in ? Could I chuff! The owner said Well lift you in `. Oh yeh…with me in my sturdy prescription electric wheelchair? I think not! I could fall out and there could be a need for an ambulance to see to people with very painful backs!
Oh the naivity of the well meaning public!`
