Does anyone here take probiotics and would recommend one I could try ?

I took Yakult for a week a few weeks back and it had a positive effect on my stomach , however I’m put off by it’s sugar / UHT milk content

Bio-Kult is one of the most widely used but it is expensive. Take a look at the strains that are included in it and then compare with others. I’ve used Bio-Kult in the past and more recently Full Spectrum Bio-culture Defence from Swiss BioEnergetics, and also Biocultures multi-strain complex. I tend to think altering the one you use from time to time will probably be beneficial. The latter two also contain prebiotics (dietary fibre), which are also good for the good gut bacteria.

Remember that for the good bacteria to thrive they need feeding - with a very broad range of plant-based foods - salad greens, vegetables, pulses, herbs, spices and fruit.

Also fermented foods are supposed to be good. As well as yoghurts, things like kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi etc

I totally get your concerns about the sugar and UHT milk in Yakult. If you’re looking for the best probiotics, you might want to consider more natural options with less sugar. I’ve had great results with probiotics from various brands, including some that offer sugar-free versions. It’s all about finding what works best for you and your gut. You could check out the local health food store or even consult with a healthcare professional for personalized recommendations.
