I thought you might like to know that Pat has had her operation to remove the tumour ( which she christened Walter!) all went well. I spoke to her son and as yet he’s not certain but she could possibly be home tomorrow…they will know for sure after the ward rounds tomorrow.
Unbelievably after a three hour operation most people would go home the same day but due to her MS they were not sure if she might have to stay a few days. Pats sister is looking after Pats beloved cat Dickie but no doubt Pat will be anxious to get home to him as soon as possible.
My heart has been in my mouth all day waiting to hear from Pats son…it was such a relief to know that at last Bl**dy Walter has been killed off!
Pat was advised not to take her iPad into hospital so I will update you all the moment I hear more, in the meantime take care, everyone,
I do hope so Pam, I dread the radio therapy for her…it was suggested at one point that she may need as many as 20! Can you imagine having to get a taxi and get to the hospital then have the treatment and get a taxi home again…going out once is killing but on twenty consecutive days, doesn’t bare thinking off…I’m praying they will say she doesn’t need that many, it’s going to be so hard for her. She’s been incredibly brave, she has my total admiration.
Thanks for keeping us posted Nina and good to hear the first stage is over. I think it’s wise to stay under observation for a while, just to be on the safe side.
Much as I know she would like to be at home with Dickie she did say she would stay in as long as she was told too because living alone, she accepts that she will get much more rest whilst in hospital.
Yah glad it went well, I like many others have been thinking about her. Thanks for the update and give her my best wishes if you manage to speak to her. XXX
Unbelievably I had a text from her, she said she was very doped up on Morphine, relieved it was over and that the staff and her son had been wonderful.
I will tell her about all your messages, I’m sure it will help her enormously to know that everyone is wishing her well and she can read them for herself as well when she gets home.
Her MS is playing up but not surprising after all that she’s been through today…she was at the hospital at 7am this morning!!!. The good thing is, at the moment, she’s not in pain. Here’s hoping it stays that way and she can get a good nights sleep.
Poor Pat, she’s in for a tough time isn’t she? Thanks for letting us know how she’s doing though nina. Please pass on my best wishes and that I’m thinking about her too. Hope she gets home soon for snuggles with her fur baby Dickie. Love Rosie x
