Party?

Hmmmm American cheese ??? = Oxymoron

but you are right, one sniff of Moonshine and I will doubtless eat just about any type of cheese and 10 pounds of meatballs with frozen ham.
This party is getting serious.

Sausage rolls look like this or smaller.

So, kind of like pizza rolls, only good!

The ham is cooking…and I’ll be sure to remove the plastic wrap from the cheese before giving it to you.

‘I’ll be sure to remove the plastic wrap from the cheese before giving it to you.’

Sounds irresistible! Thanks NM

The photo of sausage rolls makes me hungry!

Sue

cheers. The plastic is the nutritional bit ! on US cheese

Sue, so are you using a manual wheelchair then…not progressed to a leccy one? C’mon lass, get revved up and we race on Blackers sands!

Do you know what pigs in blankets are? We’re daft about them hereabouts.

Sausage roll is a sausage wrapped in pastry.
Like a pastry tunnel with a sausage train going through it.

Thanks for starting this thread.
We all need cheering up.

Yes, quiche please - let’s think of all the typical British party food so NorasMon learns about all the strange British foods. Ha

Quiche - pastry flan filled with beaten egg and then, cheese and onion, ham and tomato. salmon and broccoli.

Wow, what a shindig (may not translate well over the pond, but I’m sure you get the message NM!)

I don’t know what time everyone else had their (virtual) party, but honestly, mine went on for several hours. Much longer than I’d have been able to cope with a ‘real’ party. (Remember them? Before MS and Covid!)

The gin went down a treat (I had a cocktail with Bombay Sapphire, elderflower cordial and tonic with lime - actually I did have one of those yesterday, delish!). Then the red wine and cheese (purely in my head but all wonderful!). Sue’s sausage rolls were great (pastry tunnel with a sausage train? Nice one Jen ) I’d completely forgotten about quiche. I’m a bit of a stickler for tradition - but it was great. Who brought the cold poached salmon? Wow! NMs meatballs were a smash hit too. I could only manage about 6 though. Twiglets and crisps as usual went down well. And chicken wings? Lovely, good idea. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten as much. Even virtually.

The dancing, that was fun. Especially Mick after a bit too much gin and moonshine. Tap/lap and pole dancing, fair enough. But the Travolta impression🕺? Well?!? And were you breakdancing or was that just writhing on the floor after falling over? Bouds really ‘threw some shapes’ in the powerchair (no, I’ve resisted madly electric chairs - too many activities become difficult in a powerchair - I’m madly trying to hold onto a certain independence, changing a stoma more than 5 times yesterday evening would have been a tad difficult - but enough reality!). The rest of the dancing around sticks, in chairs, even without mobility aids (yes I know some people just ‘forgot’ to use their sticks after too much gluhwein, mentioning no names!)

Whose idea was the Karaoke? Really! Yes I know I murdered a song or two, I never said I could sing! And Twister? Did we all forget little things like disability? It’s one thing getting down on the floor, it’s getting up again that’s the problem!

You all looked fabulous anyway. Dressed to the nines. Even those of us in flannel shirts and jeans. The sparkly dresses were a hit. Especially on all the chaps. Suits you sirs! (Not suggesting for a minute that wearing special glittery Christmas dresses :star2: are the preserve of the genetically female!)

Oh such fun. And anyone who’s yet to have their virtual party (obviously, some might save theirs till New Year’s Eve, or just a dull Wednesday afternoon), it was a hell of a do.

Just roll on next year. Thanks for organising the transatlantic bash Norasmum.

I had a blast! You Brits know how to host a party; I just got the ball rolling. We do need to get Mick drunk more often, though.

Hmm it only takes a thimble of alcohol to get this super cheap date drunk. The dancing only improves in my head !

Moonshine is the best
