Our neighbours over the road moved today and left their cat! They had three cats, and left at least one behind. We will find out about the other two as time goes by. Not nice weather for a cat to be abandoned!
that cruel, i hope the cat has somewhere warm to sleep overnite, id hate to think if she/he hasnt
Please make sure he has somewhere to go, maybe ring cat’s protection or rspca. I did that @ ten years ago when in the same position as yourself. I love my cat dearly and just can’t imagine him being shut ot in any weather never mind this, he whent out earlier as he had business, and then he could not get in fast enoughand he was like (wow wow wow) I was sure he was saying it soo cold out there!
aaaww im glad (i bet he is too) that hes got a nice warm place to sleep, ppl that just leave there pets behind should be left out on there own for the night in weather like this, see how they like it, as you can tell i don’t like ppl that are ready to dump there pets without thought
if u knew where they moved too, id get in touch n get maintenance off them, is there any animal charitys that could donate a lil food?
aw Pat you are soo kind, My cat came from cat’s protection and he is just pur fect or he would be if only he wouls learn how to make me a cup of tea.
aaw, i hope the other 2 are ok, id ask the cats protection, after all your helping to keep cats off the streets n well cared for
Aww you hear this story so much when doing alot of animal care work… Usaully you need to contact someone like rspca or such and they will go there and put sellotape on the door locks and check them after a day to make sure no one has come back.
If they have not they have every right to break in and look around.
I can’t see them taking the cat u found away from you as they like it when a animal gets a new home. Maybe just take it to check its health is all fine etc.
It`s good to know there are folk like you who wont see a pet harmed, unfed or abandoned. Good for you!
Sleep well and warm, pussies!
luv Pollx

i read this thread this morning and its so sad.
we would be worried sick if one of ours were missing.

Pat,if only there were more folk like you.Lucky Elvis.i’m sure he’ll settle in time.
If you’re struggling, ask for help please.
Is it worth checking that the other two cats have not been left in the empty house. Some people are as mean as hell and would do that.
Please keep us posted, thanks. You’re an absolute angel.

I think Elvis is a great name for a cat, just love it!! Glad he’s being looked after now.
Hi, I found 2 black kittens left on a wall a few days before halloween. Cat protection were brilliant. They paid for them to be neutered. I couldn’t believe some one could leave them there. They were about 3 months old and the most affectionate little cats. I was told that the rspca would give them a week for someone to claim them then if no one had they’d be destroyed. It almost made me cry so I took them home and put posters up but I still have them and they’re now chipped and belong to us. One of them can pull the duvet off. We joke that that sort of behavior he will find himself back on the wall.
For me, my two little (getting bigger) kittens have been the best medicine. Along with my daughter of course!
That’s dreadful Pat, thank you for ensuring Elvis was 'back in the building in this inclement weather.
I really can’t understand people who make the decision to have pets and then casually abandon them to their fate .
I don’t like our three rescue cats going out in the snow in case they get frostbite on their paws !
Sadly there seems to be a lot of it about, my neighbor today told me how a reatives boy friend who is an estate agent went to an empty locked house to find an abandond cat, the cat was taken to cats protection - I hope poor little thing finds a good home. When I look at my super cat all snuggled up in my bed (all right, his bed that he lets me share) where he has been all day except for food and business breaks. I wonder how people can be cruel with them, they don’t have to get them if they are not going to look after them.
Oh my goodness, how cruel. It might be an idea to alert the CPL and also put some boxes & blankets out near the food where they could shelter. Hopefully they’ll follow Elvis through the catflap and into the building. Wishing you and them good luck.
