What do we do. A neighbours cat is locked in the house next door. Been there for two days. Mark has just realised. The house is empty and being done up but nobody there for two days. Mark rang the police to ask them what to do. They said they cannot help. What rubbish, surely they can find out who owns the house and contact them. Not a chance! What do we do then, let the cat die? Smash the door down?
call the RSPCA

DONOT phone 999,but either get the number or get down to your nearest Fire Station. Nicely explain the situation, and see what they reckon. I’m not saying they’ll do anything but they can go anywhere where fire is suspected.
If no joy there, then you’ll have to feed it through the letterbox, and wet bogroll will water it. A decent cat will drink out of the bog if the lid is up when it is thirsty.

stupid question but have you checked if there’s a catflap at the back or a window open?
Hi
Call the RSPCA.
If they feel the cat is in danger then they can get the police to enter the building.
Neil
If the Fire Brigade ‘suspect’ there is a fire they can gain access. All depends on whoever is in charge and their view on cats and bending the rules.

Cats Protection mat be able to arrange for the police to go in if they think there is an animal in distress. Probably too late now but please let us know how it goes!

Thanks Pat, what a relief! When I was with CP we were very lucky with our local police (one helped with a dog charity). Never got to the stage of breaking the door down but pretty close a couple of times.
LOL!!! Wanna bet?!
Excellent news though

I am a real cat lover and i am sure the little bugger will be fine but i can.t believe everyone missed the chance to say…

Excellent - but does he know that he’s had half the country anxiously awaiting news of his liberation? Surely we were only hours away from having an outside broadcast unit on the spot.
Both of the cats from next-door-but-two live nearly full-time in my garden, but they never get food here and they disappear off soon enough at bed and mealtimes and they are not allowed in my house - and know it. Obviously your menu is highly desirable!
