And thats all i can say!, my scooter came on Mon, I charged it and went out on Tues, and it was great, loved it, I may need L plates though!!
Hi Catt, me again! My scooter is the most important thing I own!!!
You will soon become and expert. When mine was delivered I said to the man that I intended to keep it in my small hall. ‘No chance’ he said. Well he was wrong! I can turn in the smallest of spaces and get around the most crowded of supermarkets.
If I had to give one tip, I would say ‘learn to be as patient as a saint!’. Everyone steps in front of you and there’s no point in getting annoyed by it. In crowds, go slowly. Expect lots of stopping and starting. After a while your ‘skill’ gives you quite a buzz.
Enjoy! It must be one of the best mobility devices ever invented!

Hi Catt,
Mine is called Sky, because shes blue, and takes me out under the sky. Shes very good however one note of warning besides what Pat has said, when you take your hands off the trigger move it will brake automatically, mine takes time, so when someone is in front of you, sometimes it jolts slightly forward before braking. Ive run up someone’s legs before, but it was their stupid fault for walking backwards towards me.
Ive also had a young girl fall over me, doing the same as above, because she was talking to her friends, so not only do we have to have eyes in the back of our heads, we have to think for other peoples actions.
Happy motoring, I wouldnt be without mine either, freedom at last eh.

Hi, hope you don`t get banned from any shops/towns/cities. I once read about a woman who was banned from B&Q, as she caused havoc and injury when in there.
Go girl and enjoy!
luv Pollx
Hi Catt
Enjoy your freedom and independence.

Hi,
What sort of scooters have you all got. Thre are so many different types. Mine is a travelscoot
It has a dry cell battery, weighs in at 18 Kg. I take it to London on the train and then go and see people and places. I can take it on the buses, I’m no longer allowed to drive, can only walk about 400 meters with my rollator. so its given me back a large amount of independence. Folds up to the size of a golf bag with a range of 6 to 8 miles
I would like to hear what scooter you have and what you really like about it and maybe what annoys you about it.
I own the website www,aid4disabled.com and I am thinking of doing an article on different types of scooters so any information gratefully received. Write to patrick,burke@aid4disabled.com
Look forward to hearing from you
Patrick
Patrick, i now have a blue Pride Colt 4.
Hi Catt, I dont need a scooter on a day-to-day basis yet i can walk from my house to my car and from my car to whereever I am going but I borrow one when shopping as I cant walk long distances like around the supermarket or shopping centre and find as well as being essential its actually quite fun.
i guess that due to the fact I have a drivers licence I have no problem doing a 3 point turn in a shop and just like on the road I am very curteous towards other people and so far any able bodied people I have met have been very nice.
I would like to one day own one of those hand trycles like on the paralympics but looking at the price I doubt if I will ever be able to afford one
Hi Catt, nice to know that you have a blue Pride Colt 4. Check out mine at http://www.globallistingsite.com
