The weather isn`t very good, but we are into October now, so batten down the hatches, eh?
Right, get this for another chuffin` example of how c…p our local neuro dept is.
I had an appointment for 17th Oct, to get results and talk about the next step…no pun intended.
2 weeks ago, I had a letter informing me that the appointment had been cancelled and i would be hearing about another in due course.
So we are now what I would consider to be In due course timing. So this morning i rang my MS nurse, in an effort to see when I may be given a new date.
I get the ansaphone. it says You are through to the Multiple Sclerosis office. There is no-one in the post at the current time. we are hoping to recruit soon. if you need to speak to someone, please ring the Huddersfield office.
Huh! Gobsmacked or what? I saw and spoke to our MS nurse a few weeks ago…she mustve known she was leaving or thinking of leaving........but of course she didnt tell me that. She said Im always here, Pauline, if you need to talk`.
So I rang the alternative and got this ansaphone message, You have reached the MS Nurse. I am on annual leave until later in October.
Chuffin` grand innit!!!
I told you before the neuro dept around here is a joke factory.only no-one`s laughing!
I just feel like forgetting the whole thing. Ill continue through my life in the knowledge that ill never walk again, find a cure or anyone in the NHS who actually gives a damn.
Oh Poll, They are shocking, messing with our lives how can they be so dismissive of us?
I have just put a thread on about my non specific mri, feel I am going mad have not worked in Nov 2011 and I am wondering if I should try and go back… Still in limbo land, trying to think positive thoughts, but the pain and spasms do my head in.
Hi Poll It beggars belief really…I hope you are able to speak to someone soon to sort out your appointment. It is so insensitive of these people, we just ask to be treated fairly!!! You must never give up though, when I say that to my hubby he goes mad and says you must keep positive and assume a cure will come along!!! (Easy to say I suppose!!!) Keep your chin up Poll Luv Linda x
Hi Linda, ta for your reply. When I say give up…I mean in my quest to finda dx…not on life…no, I will never do that. I am just so very sick of numpties messing me about.
Hi Poll This diagnosis saga musts keeps going on and on. You must have the record for being the most mucked about person waiting for a dx. Like Teresa I am fairly speechless. Keep the faith Poll - even those numpties will get themselves in gear eventually! Teresa xx
Hi Polly, I saw the Huddersfield MS nurse last week, and she told me Janet had left to do a teaching course and that Huddersfield now where having to take on Calderdale patients for now, and yes she’s on her hol’s now, she tried to change my appt to Nov but I wasn’t having it, not sure which neuro you’ll see, but if it’s him at Hudds good luck, take care, Jean x

Hi Poll, poor you, you must be so cross and frustrated. Can you ring the neuro’s secretary and find out about your appointment ? It’s worth a go I think under the circumstances. I hope you get to talk with someone soon you really do need some answers. Take care love Karen xx
Cheers everyone for your replies. A friend visited me today, who has MS. She told me MS nurse is doing something completely different. She was probably peed off with taking all the flack for a useless service. Dont blame her, but that leaves us with no-one to talk to. Greenhouse has told me something about that.
Thanks jean.
I don`t feel like chasing it up just now. They can have a rest from this limbolander…1 less for them, eh?
I think it’s typical of what’s happening in the NHS right now. I have 2 friends working in the NHS and both of their jobs are ‘at risk’… meaning that they can get the push at any time.
Jeeeeez you seem to be constantly dealing with this cr*p!
