Hi gang, going on holiday with my sister tomorrow! A friend of hers has bungalow in Wye Valley, Herefordshire and is letting us stay there while they are away. Going for a whole week! Is near where I went last year so will be able to meet up with our own lovely Nina again!!! Has internet access and I’ll have ipad… so I’ll be checking in. But have to say the preparations for holiday are a bit exhausting… blimey I’ll need a holiday but the time I get there. Love to all and hope everyone’s doing ok. Pat xx (back to packing…)

I hope you have a good time Pat and I can understand about needing a holiday to get over the preparations. I haven’t been away since being diagnosed but was thinking of going to a hotel in Blackpool (while I can) that cater for disabled people.
Wash rooms etc. to make it easier. I will go on my own so should be an adventure and maybe difficult in parts. I’m sure I’ll have some funny stories to report back. 
Hi again Ricksmom… the great thing about disabled hotels is they are so friendly… you won’t be on your own for long. Our Poll on these boards went to the one in Blackpool… if it’s the same one, she had a blast! I went to one last year in Ross-on-Wye last year, and same… everyone really friendly and you are very soon part of the crowd. Pat xx

Hello Pat, we went to the Wye valley 5 years ago for a fantastic few days of scenery, music and pure indulgence, followed be a few more days in south and north Wales. When everything is accessible and convenient, any holiday with friends or loved ones is wonderful. Here’s to a good time. We’re off to a bungalow by Bangor on the 9th of May. Yay! Thanks Pam, I think a few things contributed to it…as Pat often says her elf likes a strict routine, plus the journey, being in strange surroundings…you know, I’m sure, all that can contribute to a really awful day. It was lovely, as you say, to meet up, hoping maybe we can manage another day…all we need is a corresponding good day! Hope that’s not going to be too much to ask. Thank you all for lovely responses. Having a really wonderful time… well it’s true I was crap today… esp earlier… but it’s really beautiful here. Nice bungalow… everything you could wish for really. Very very quiet. Can’t hear any traffic at all and so pretty. Weather hasn’t been great but we don’t care… just nice to be out of the city. Was wonderful seeing Nina and we hope to get together again in a day or two. Had a lovely long chat which of course included how this board keeps us sane and don’t know what we’d do without our gang! The journey was tiring… although it was car door-to-door… but also I think the excitement did me in a bit… you know how exhausting that is. Nice spending time with my sister… just hanging out, reading, tv and lots of chatting and laughing. Thanks again for your lovely messages, Lots of love, Pat xx
