Please could some of you lovely people give me some advice. I have been feeling progressively worse over this week but today I’m really suffering. My left leg and arm are very weak and I am in pain all over. I’m staggering round all over and pins and needles in my hands and feet is driving me potty, I am so tired I can hardly move and my eyes keep going blurry but that could be because I’m tired. I’m not sure what to do, the neuro I saw said it was all my age, my eppy neuro said my symptoms don’t fit with anything neurological that she can think of, my GP has left the practice and I’m not sure they are even aware of what is going on. I have so much to do I don’t have time to be ill and I have to take my daughter to the hospital for a blood test. Sorry for rambling
Hi Nikki
I’m so sorry you’re not feeling well.
Can you speak to another GP at the same practice to get some advice perhaps or even get seen? Failing this I would go to A&E. It doesn’t sound like you should leave this and as your neuro isn’t really on board or supportive ringing his secretary may not get you much and even if they offered an appointment it maybe another week (saying that there’s no harm in trying if A&E is difficult to go to with your children).
I definitely wouldn’t leave this.
Hope you feel better and get through to someone (hugs)

Thanks reemz. I have just rung my eppy nurse it was the only person I could think of. She was brilliant as always but there are no neuros in the department today! She will talk to one tomorrow and get back to me and she is going to try and push for a faster appointment for the MRI. I’m just not sure how to get through the day. Xx
Sorry was having some technical issues and it’s sent my post three times! It wasn’t my fault (blush).
That’s great your eppy nurse is on side. At leasat thats something! I still wouldn’t leave things if you’re struggling and can’t get around and look after yourself. See how you go but if you’re still like this tomorrow it maybe worth a trip to A&E.
I know we all try and soldier on but I think if your symptoms aren’t showing any improvement and you’re worried don’t leave it. You shouldn’t have to struggle.
Lots of hugs

Still feeling pretty rubbish today. For those who get the ms hug does it come and go or there all the time. I keep getting this tight feeling round my chest and it really hurts. It lasts about an hour then goes away but keeps coming back. My kids are 14, 11 and 8 so all at school which is nice but the school run is a struggle. Xx
Hi Nikki
My MS Hug built up in intensity over a week then went but I know some of the others have had intermittent episodes of it. It’s really horrible.
I also get areas in my chest/ribcage that intermittently tighten and spasm but not in a band. I’ve got area under by R breast right now thats like this and everytime I breath or try and stretch it kills or worse when I try and bend to reach something which I was quite difficult wiith my job as sometimes I end up on my hands and knees to test kids. It’s been an interesting challenge.
Have you managed to see anybody yet?
If it’s getting to be a problem you could speak to your GP surgery and see if they’ll prescibe some baclofen or diazepam just short term to help ease it (I used diazepam for my neck spasm last year - its fantastic but not for longterm as it’s addictive).
Try going without a bra as this can sometimes make the hug worse. Hot or cold packs may help ease the pain also and keep trying to stretch your chest gently if you can.
Hope youfeel better Nikki. It really is a frightening sensation.
