ok here goes, im not on the scrounge but does anyone know if the ms society could possibly help me get a cooker? or even know where i can get a really cheap cooker? my cooker is on its last legs, the oven has gone so has the grill, theres one ring left thats working and ive had it for 12 years, i applyed to the dwp for a budgeting loan and they said i cant have one as i havent been getting income related esa for long enough, i now know you have to be on it for 26 weeks and ive only been on it for 14-16 weeks, i applied to the crisis loan dept and they say its not a emergency, i think i see there point, i cant afford to buy one as my esa has gone down to £134 a fortnight due to water being taken out and the crisis loan from before xmas till the end of april, im now down to using the microwave and a borrowed george foreman grill from my mum n dad, its going to take me months to try and save up for a new or even second hand cooker, i dont care what it is aslong as it works, im getting pretty desperate for a cooker now. my family are asking around incase anyone is getting rid of a cooker, but as of yet no luck, (in these times i know its hard to get things to replace things that arent working or even just to get something new) im posting as anon as i feel pretty embarrassed about asking about this, please don’t think of me as a scrounger, im not looking for something for nothing, i dont care how long it takes me to pay it back, but i will do it
Hi, not sure if MS local branch will pay for a cooker. They`ve helped me out with flooring for my wet room and a hoist.
You can but ask, eh?
What about the sally army, or charity shops? Is it a gas or electric cooker you need? There`s strict regulations about fitting second hand gas cookers.
luv Pollx
Have you tried the web site freecycle ? Not tried it myself but my son is always extolling the virtues of it. Good luck Ninagrace

Not sure but think if you have something to swop then it’s free with free cycle Worth a try anyway Ninagrace
Freecycle are a great way of getting stuff.I have never asked for anything but when we downsized to a much smaller place I advertised on there and got rid of almost a house.Give it a go.
You could also try Gumtree I’ve had some great things off there
thats great, i can put a settee and chair i have spare on there, so atleast if i can’t get a cooker, someone can have something comfy to sit on, thanks alot for everyones suggestions, i really apreciate them
