New to this and looking for advice.

Hey, I lost my sight(started off blurry and now have no vision) in my right eye around 4 weeks ago and went to get it checked out and was diagnosed with Retrobulbar optic neuritis. I was referred for an urgent MRI and they found a lesion on my brain and diagnosed Demyelination in my brain. I’ve been urgent referred to a neurologist but since seeing the ophthalmologist on Monday over the last few days been getting internal vibrations in my lower back and down both legs. It happens throughout the day and with no warning. Is this something that passes and is normal to get? I’m stressed worrying that I’m going to wake up and not be able to move my legs… I’m sorry if it sounds dramatic but I just don’t know what to expect no one in my family has ever had ms and I have two kids to look after.
I know everyone gets different symptoms but I just wondered what to expect. Hope someone can help. Thanks

Hi Claymores86

The Neurologist will be best placed to discuss whether or not it is MS.

In the meantime, yes, a lot of people with MS have the sensation of internal vibrations, often when they have overdone things, have over heated (in the current warm weather, very easy to do) or are generally a bit run down. When I get too hot (usually when exercising), I get a buzzing sensation in my left foot/lower leg which is a definite sign for me to go sit in the shade and cool off. Hot weather means more buzzing foot episodes.

Hope you see the Neurologist soon and get some answers to your questions.

Hi TheresaB,

Thanks for replying, the ophthalmologist that told me is someone I know well and has told me it is MS and that we just need to see what type it is when I get my referral.
I’ve been getting the vibrating throughout the day everyday so maybe it’s the unusual hot weather. Glad it’s not a sign of things stopping working.
I hope I see them soon to get some more answers to this.
Thanks
