New relapse?

Morning everyone, hope you are all as good as can be?, Just a quick question, I have got up this morning a bit off balance, walking round tesco (other supermarkets are available  ) and I can’t seem to focus too well. Not as in blurry but as though I had been looking at something close up then looked at something further away, you know how it takes a second or two to re focus? But it’s all the time. It’s only been a few hours but feel quite tired (also have a period started) (sorry). Any thoughts would be appreciated, Thank you, Sue x

Hi Sue,

I presume you’re not diagnosed but it sounds like your having a little attack. The eye problem sounds like a Temporal Pallor/Optic Neuritis so it is important to visit GP and get an urgent appointment with a Neurologist.

It could be your eyesight gets normal again on its own; but more than likely you may need a small dose of steroids.

See http://www.mult-sclerosis.org/opticneuritis.html Only a Visual Evoked Potential will tell this and only a doctor can have this procedure carried out so it’s hopeless going to an Optician.

Don’t worry its quite painless, http://www.mult-sclerosis.org/VisuallyEvokedResponse.html

Hi G, Thank you for your reply. I was dx in nov last yr and started betaferon about 6wks ago. Feeling a lot better this eve, but was horrible earlier. Will see how I go and will jot it down in diary for now. Hopefully it don’t come back, Best wishes, Sue x

Sheep, Thx for the advice, (glad to hear you are free from the women’s problems, could be a whole new issue)! I will have a word with my ms nurse and see what she says, Don’t want any eye problems, sight is so precious. Very envious of you living in Cornwall, we love it there. Nothing like a pengenna pasty eaten in its paper whilst walking down to king Arthur’s, (even if I do need to get the landrover back up now)! Take care, Sue x

Thanks Sue yep great place good for the soul glad you get to appreciate it too as long as you get out and about that’s the main thing , ohhh now you’ve down it i want a pasty and gotta wait til tomorrow , gd gd better to be safe than sorry

hope all goes okay i have mine in 2 weeks lets hope we are both okay

stay safe
