Hi all
I have my MRI on friday. I can take a CD to listen to some music. What would you listen too?
the radiographer played me some music and it was a mixture of stuff that i like and hadnt heard for ages. the only one i can remember is dido.
i like sigur ros for occasions like that. icelandic so the words dont matter but the music is dreamy, float away stuff.
good luck

hiya
during my recent mri i was offered music. i said i would prob fall asleep! reply was-i dont think so as its very noisy! but i found the hum and clanking of the machine rhythmic and reassuring.
i have recent pleasure of being in the same room as a snorer-something i had not encountered before. i thought to myself-this could annoy and irrite me and keep me awake OR i could be glad that i could still hear her as this meant she was still alive! same noise-just a different perception! i was occassionally aware of the noise but didnt waken me fully as i was glad rather that irrate!
changing the view of the situation changes your attitude towards it. the noise is a noise-i chose to accept it rather than let it annoy me. this can be applied to almost everything!
hope all goes smoothly with ur scan.

The mri is not quick so opera for me, Verdi, or Puccini. Yes, Puccini La Rondine. Perfect mri music, and a room with a view.

I did fall asleep in my MRI scan as the noise was so soothing.
To stay awake, I would say Green Day for the music.

Motorhead and Discharge.
Rocking the mri! I chose ed sheeran nice and calm. Made the hour dissapear.
Something loud that you like - calm and quiet sounds nice and relaxing but it doesn’t drown out the sound of the scanner!
It was the only way for me.
Random gunshot clanks fit in nicely with some anarchist punk and speed-laced metal.
On another occasion, I chose the house Arabic Chillout Trance thing, which was surprisingly mild and decidedly unsympatico with the jarring drill of the machine.
Instead I concentrated on the soothing tones via the intercom of the rather lovely scanner operator, who put me in mind of a younger version of that dominatrix hotel lady who tells people how to mind their own businesses. Ruth someone or other.
Oh yes indeed.
She said, “Are you OK in there? I’m hearing some strange sounds”.
Didn’t have the heart to tell her they were caveman noises, brought on by some primeval regression caused entirely by herself.
I remember my first MRI scan. A tape was played by the hospital.
The opening track was… ‘I Feel Good’ by James Brown.
I chuckled at the choice, even though I was far from feeling good at the time !!
second thoughts, maybe Bach St. Matthew Passion. It’s always perfect.
A Brahms symphony. There are four but the D major no.2 would suit the situation.
AC/dc & Iron Maiden, best of it was I fell asleep inside the thing, ha and that nurse said she didn’t thing the cd player could play a home made cd

Telemann’s Trumpet Concerto in D, preferably played by John Schroeder, cos I love it. Otherwise anything Baroque played quietly, or obscure-as-possible church organ music played VERY LOUDLY.
I’ve got it! You inspired me. The Saint-Saens organ concerto of course! How could I possibly have forgotten it…perfect mri muzak. The last bit is loud and thunderous.
Just Hope the Scanner music machine is working. I had two scans and the 2nd time it ,the music player, was broken. I do remember getting a real full on fit of the giggles…vey hard to keep still! The other day when I took off (giggles) in the local tv repair shop!! As I type I’m on dangerous ground!!!
Try Peruvian PAN PIPE music! @ incantation,
By the way the scanners not a Circus Cannon!!!
Take care
Jonny
Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I need something relaxing probably its going to be Handels Fireworks Music or Mozarts Clarinet Concerto. I wish I could fall asleep in the scanner. Its not the sound thats worries me its the lack of space.
My first joyce would be that music of Tallis with the Saxophon. Any ideas what’s it called?
And of course head banging and air guitar when I get back home

The Four Baritones “If you love me”? Tallis with saxophones.
