Hi , I have bad problems with my bladder and urologist suggesting botox in bladder wall , is anyone else having this done ?
Yes, I have it done about every 9 months. I think it’s great! I’ll send you a message tomorrow as I’m too tired now to send a detailed response.

Hi Kelly,
I too have bladder Botox and it is amazing. From having to pee numerous times a day volume 100-150mls - I know as I’m weeing into a jug!!!- oh yeah- and not drinking very much. I then went to drinking loads and not peeing so often and my volumes went up to 500mls - I remember the joy of seeing the 500ml jug I’m weeing into overflowing!!! I drank 4 mugs of tea one morning and didn’t have to wee until 2pm!!!
i really do recommend it. So it is slightly uncomfortable having it done. But hey as I self catheterise my urethra is used to having tubes poked up it several times a day, A doctor doing similar is really no different to me. I always ask the nurse in the room for a hand to hold and gently squeeze when it gets a bit uncomfortable. But hey it takes less than 5 minutes so for me totally worth it.

Hi Min, isn’t it done under anaesthetic? I thought it was.
Hey Poll,
Me too so I was mighty surprised when there was no anaesthetic, sedation, numbing etc and the doctor just went ahead and did it. But anyway I have maybe about 15 injections into my bladder and only a couple are super owww. But I really love it as means that I can drink more, don’t go to the loo as much and also hardly ever have to get up at night. So I’ve stopped the Desmopressin- still get these tablets and hoard them for when I might need them again when Botox wears off.

The first time I had it done was by general as they wanted to have a look around while they were in there! Since then it has been done by local - they squirt some numbing gel down the syringe before they start injecting.

I had my 1st lot done under general anaesthetic, when I came around I couldn’t move from the waist down, was like that for about 4hrs, very scary, so since then I have it done with a local, doesn’t numb the area much, but I didn’t find it too bad, mind I do have numbness there, my lasts between 6/9mths, good luck.
Hi there, I have had it done started of on the lowest dose ,now up to the highest dose have it done under general, and I have a spc,but unfortunately for me I still have to wee and I don’t always make it to the loo on time, but I don’t have to get up every 30mins during the night
Sue
Thank you so much for all your replies I’m really really appreciate it. I only finally got diagnosed 1 years ago and have found all the changes very difficult to deal with but thanks for this site and all your lovely reply it’s so good to know that there’s people out there to help thank you very much Xxxxxxx
Hi Sue, so you are by-passing a lot then yeh? I by-pass now and then. If it is over 2/3 days, I think about having botox…it has been offered…but then my spc behaves and I carry on! My bladder calming drug of choice is betmiga…no side effects at all. I still get spasms…mostly when going for a no 2 and then it doesn’t matter about by passing. Bouds x
Hi Bouds, most of the time everything’s fine, but I can be sat down and suddenly get the urge to wee and I have to get to the loo pretty quick, most of the time I have to use a jug I keep downstairs as the loo is up stairs and I know I can’t make it in time.
if I was asked would I have it done my answer would be yes, as I don’t have to get up every 30 mins at night and it’s fine most of the time, I now have 300mls under general, because they want to see if it helps as they tell me I can’t be weeing, but I know differently.
Best wishes Sue.
