MRI shock

Hi all!

Long time lurker, new poster here. I’ve been following all your advice for years.

In short, had a flare five years ago but all tests were negative for MS- apparent myelitis. Autumn ‘22 I had a hemiplegic migraine and more recently I’ve ended up muscle spasms and weakness on my left side and spasms have now spread to my right side. As such I’ve been sent back to neurology for query MS. I already have rheumatoid arthritis so it’s probably some form of peripheral neuropathy.

Anyway, I had my MRI today (brain and cervical spine). During the scan, I had this awful electric shock feeling in my left hand. It only lasted for the duration of that specific scan, few minutes at most.

I’ve had tonnes of MRIs and that’s the first time it’s ever happened and I wondered has anyone else had it?

Thanks in advance for any help or input.

Gareth

No, I’ve not had a problem. You’ve not got any metal in your hand since your previous MRIs, or recent tattoo?
