Hey group- this is all new to me!
I first went to the neurologist as referred by my GP because I had a tingling/ pins and needles sensation in my hands and a few episodes of funny vision. (Almost like I was getting a migraine) .
The neurologist examined me and didn’t seem concerned but wanted me to go for an mri just to rule things out. It said on his report it was unlikely to be abnormal.
However my mri has showned up with plaques highly suggestive of demyelination. So now I’m waiting to see the neurologist again as my doctor said it could possibly be ms but can’t tell me definite.
I’m in total shock and so confused. Could it really be MS? I’m feeling so scared.
None of us here can say whether or not it’s MS so you will just have to wait to see the Neurologist. I know it will seem like an anxious eternity but if you can then just read as much as you can about MS including the increasing number of treatments. The treatments are getting better and better. I’ve been on one of the older treatments for 18 years and I’m happy to say that I’m able to walk and live a pretty normal life
At least you’ve seen a neurologist. My GP referred me and the only thing I’ve gotten is an MRI. They told me I would get the results after 4 weeks, but I still haven’t received anything. So I called the hospital and the receptionist told me I would get a letter from the neurologist, but as far as she could see my MRI came out as normal.
What could it be, then?
So tired of this nonsense.
