MRI results

Hi hope your all as well as can be Just wondering if anyone can answer this one for me I’m still awaiting my MRI results but as symptoms have got worse I just called the neuro secretary to see if my results were back yet she was lovely and said they should be about another week … The confusing part was when she said IF the neuro needs to see me he will be in touch , does this mean if results don’t show anything I will just be left to get on ? Surely that can’t be right as there is def something strange going on with me Evan if nothing shows on MRI Just wondered if anyone could shed some light on this Many thanks

Hi Cody - don’t forget she is just the neuro secretary so she has no real knowledge of what is happening with you. She may have just said that because for some people that is the case, but it may not be for you. I would phone her again in a week and see what she says then. If you dont get anywhere (ie if it is negative and you are discharged) then it may be that you need to go back and see your GP. They have the ability to question your discharge, re refer to another speciality, do more tests, or help you to manage the symptoms you have currently. I don’t know what your symptoms are, but Inwould imagine in most cases they will give you a follow up appointment to explain after having had an mri. Leah

Hi Cody I agree, I think it is usual for Secretaries to say ‘if’ cause there not aware of your test results yet!

It seems from reading on the forum different health authorities deal with things so differently, you may get a letter, you may receive an appt,g.p may be informed, one thing they have in common is they don’t rush.

Try not to worry

Hi Cody - sorry to hear you’re feeling worse. I found the waiting between appts very stressful & that really aggravated my symptoms. Try & be kind to yourself - rest up if you need to.

In Kent ( where I am) the hospital sends the patient & their Gp the results & advice re future action. I thought this was NHS policy.

Anyway if you’re worried I’d start with speaking to your GP surgery - they might be able to help. It will also make them aware you’re not improving which might help you in the long run.

Take care

Hi all … Just a quick update I’ve just spoken to the neuro sec and she has told me my MRI results are back in and she is going to make an appointment to see the neuro to get them ( should be in a couple of weeks ) but I’m also aware that my gp has my results do u think its worth seeing the gp as I can see him sooner and see what he says about them as I have got to see him anyway because the neuro had recommended he puts me on pregabilin not sure about the correct spelling lol I no I sound very impatient but it’s so damn worrying just waiting about all the time :frowning: Plus I had a routine eye check yesterday and told him that my right eye had been aching for a few weeks he took the usual photos of my eyes and found 2 black marks on back of right eye so I’ve now been referred to eye hospital too … If I didn’t laugh I’d cry at the minute as I’m sure I’m slowly falling apart Xx
