MOTOMed Machine

Hi everyone, my mum has MS, and would benefit greatly from regular access to a MOTOMed cycling machine. I’ve done a bit of research to try to find where to get one from, but am struggling to find much information. If anyone is aware of anywhere that sells second hand machines, I would be very grateful.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Anon,

Please excuse my ignorance but what is a MOTMed cycling machine?

Janet

Found a website www.medimotion.co.uk if thats any help to you. They look good, atleast keeping your body fit and moving. good luck finding one maybe ask ms nurse?

Hi, I have also looked into these machines. They sound like a great way unused muscles and joints to move.

but they are sooo expensive and way out of my range.

A friend in USA says her physio uses them and she is benefitting.

I dont think the distributors in UK sell used machines.

I think there was someone here selling a used one a few months back.

luv Pollx

Thanks everyone for the replies. I don’t know too much about MOTOMed machines, but I understand that they are basically like a cycling machine, but they have a motor which takes over if and when the user needs a rest. Mum has found using one at physio sessions very useful, and it would be fantastic to get hold of one for her to use every day at home. I’ll certainly investigate the medimotion website, and will let you know if I have any success in sourcing one at a reasonable price.

Happy New Year to everyone

Pete, just to tell you how I got hold of one of these machines (I think they are generally called Medimotions, still £1K, but less than new price) and that was from an MS branch in my county, one of the members’ wife was a physio and knew of one going secondhand. I use it every day here at home, even if only for 5 mins. I reckon if you make contact with the branches near you and see whether any of them have physios doing exercise classes with the members - then get in touch and ask if they know of any redundant machines? Sorry if you’ve tried all this already … good luck, Debs (there must be machines not being used - it’s just finding them yeah?)
