I don’t know what I have. Help? The more I read the more I lean towards MS. It started with my head feeling numb like an elevator descending then a sharp headache on the left side shooting from the back of my skull to the front for 2 weeks and feelings of pins and needles down my neck. I go to ER and the CT head scan is clear. No tumors or lesions shown. I get prescribed naproxen which doesn’t do anything for my head or neck pain. My emotions are all over and I start feeling it on the other side of my head. I get a massage on my neck because I think my occipital nerve may be pinched. After the massage I feel around and the left side of my neck is painful and I notice a hard lymph node (not visible) just felt on the inside and fixed to the muscle tissue in my neck. I get bloodwork. CBC is normal and lymphocytes on low end of normal. My neck really hurts for about a month following the massage but then the headaches slowly start to go away. I’m walking around downtown New Orleans one night on a work trip and my calves start to feel very stiff and my feet feel like they are burning and hot. My ankles and wrists feel tight. A couple weeks later I begin having random muscle twitches… all over. Like little flicks or fluid running under my skin is what it feels like. Mostly in both thighs and calves, but sometimes on my eyes, arms, stomach, occasionally my lips. I wake up every now and then with a numb hand or foot but it goes away with movement. I get stabbing foot pain sometimes where it feels like a bone pushes through the bottom of your foot, and your toes separate. Oh and my toes twitch! My right middle toe was numb for a couple weeks also. And that pesky hard lymph node is still in my neck. I also have a uterine fibroid diagnosis at the same time. To say I’m freaked out is an understatement. I have my first neurology appointment on Monday and I just pray he helps me and doesn’t gaslight me so I can have a diagnosis
Good luck at your neurology appointment. Hope you get some answers. I notice you mention uterine fibroid, so just wondering if you are menopause / peri-menopause age. That can do some very weird symptoms, many neurological, and can deplete magnesium, which certainly causes neurological symptoms. You’ll find many women describe worrying symptoms very like those you describe.
Thank you Ziola! I’m praying it goes well too. The last few months have felt terrifying. I’m only 31 so I’m hopeful it isn’t menopause yet as I have no kids. We will see. Fingers crossed!
