Hi Graeme,
We pretty much do all of this, first thing in the morning my hubby goes around the areas of the bungalow where the sun will shine and closes everything down, all blinds, window’s, then as the sun moves he closes down each area in turn, just like the Spanish do. I also have a fan, cold pads and cold towels and just take it easy, I have SPMS anyway and never do a lot.
Hope you’re not suffering too much, this kills me and a lot of others I know, take care.
Jean
Thanks Graeme. Living in Scotland we are very luckily avoiding the southern heat- about 20-21C today with a breeze.
I know from my time living in London that , yes, close the curtains on the sunny sides of the house, open the windows esp upstairs and , even though the attic didn’t have a window, just opening the hatch created quite a good ‘up flow’ of (relatively) cool air. Opening the hatch at night made a massive difference especially if you can leave any downstairs windows open ( securely) - that cooled down the house and the attic which was basically acted as a ‘heat store’.
