Made mesmile a lady said she wanted to find more time so she could make her own puff pastry rather than use shop bought. I smiled because if I had more time I would still use shop bought and use the time doing something worthwhile. But there again I am a lazy beggar and cannot see why anyone would want to make puff pastry.
I have no idea why I am rattling on about cooking because I am banned from the kitchen Heather recons I break to many things or if not things I break myself

l agree Don - life’s too short to make your own puff/flakey pastry. And l cook/bake everyday.

Puff pastry? Isn’t that what supermarkets are for?
I once made croissants which is puff pastry with yeast. As a dedicated cook and like Spacejacket, I think puff pastry is too much of a task. It’s like throwing a ball for your dog and chasing after it yourself; you’ll never do it better than the dog. In the case of puff pastry, that’s what industrial processes are for.
And I’ve just realised that life is too short to go all red about puff pastry.
best wishes.

l tried to make ‘filo’ pastry ONCE! Never again - you need such a big space to keep stretching it out.
To-day we have leek and potato soup. Scones - and flapjacks -with banana peanut butter dried figs and mixed seeds oats.
Beef Rendang Curry to-night.
l just love cooking.

As I said I am banned from the kitchen after a nasty accident between me and a tray of very hot roast potatoes
History now but alarming at the time.
