Hi Everyone. I logged on briefly last week and see we have a number of new members. Welcome and I hope to get to know you all. Thanks to those of you who messaged me on a previous post, it is appreciated. I’m very busy getting my move organised, should be towards the end of this month, I’m looking forward to getting settled again. Things are slowly falling into place for dad’s care package though for this week we’re still having to help. Hopefully from next week I won’t have to do as much.
I’ve missed hearing from you all but have been exhausted and falling asleep if I’ve sat still for more than three minutes. Hopefully they’ll all change from next month and I will catch up with you all. I hope you’re all well, take care.
Hi there Min, great to hear your house move is getting closer. Hard as it is, when your workload grows, please get RR a bit more. Good luck in getting the care package finalised. Take care hon, Chrissie xx
I hope you’re all doing well. I think I’m getting really stressed and my frustration isn’t helping either. When you’re doing something like packing you realise A just how weak and tired ms makes you, B just how much stuff you have and C that no matter how much you feel you’ve packed, there’s always so much more you have and lastly D that you still have to keep on top of the routine jobs like cooking, laundry and cleaning, and how much time and energy they take up on their own.
The paperwork alone is enough to make me want to hide under the duvet for the next month or two. Dad’s full care package falls into place next week which will be a massive relief!!! At the moment mum and I have split the shifts that only one carer currently comes, so mum does the morning and I put dad to bed and give him his wet shave. I can’t fault any of the carers I’ve met, they’re all very cheerful, friendly and keen. They don’t seem frightened of his breathing machines (CPAP) and just want to understand how it helps him and how to operate them and are really patient and calm when he becomes short of breath or needs to rest. We’re really fortunate.
So, if any of you find my fairy godmother, please send her and her magic wand to my house as I’d love to go to sleep tonight and not wake up until the move is complete and all I have left to do is arrange my furniture. It was lovely hearing from all of you, hopefully soon I’ll be able to spend some time each evening catching up with all of you.
Cath , you must be so tired, i think you are amazing helping your mum and Dad and coping with moving house. We moved 12 years ago, before i got ill and it was such hard work,… Just think in a few weeks it will all be over and you will be in your new home. I always think of Samantha from Bewitched…wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could just twitch your nose and it would all be done.
