Hi again

Hi Everyone. I hope you’re all as well as can be and enjoying the weather.

I’ve been off the grid for a while as my life got out of control for a bit. My dad is deteriorating and can no longer weight bear so my parents decided to sell up and buy a flat. I decided to buy their house which is a new build with better arranged living space for me, a stair lift and much smaller garden for me to manage. So I cleared the clutter and put it on the market and it sold within 3 days of going online. What a shock!!

So I’m now buried under paperwork and phone calls and packing of course, but I just wanted to check in, see how you all are and let you know I’m still about and think of you.

Take care

Hi Cath, sorry to hear your dad’s not doing well but how great that you can buy their house…and brilliant you sold yours so quickly!!!

Try not to overdo it…and believe me I know how hard that is! Remember to delegate whatever you can!!

Hope the move goes well.

All the best,

Pat xx

Hi Cath,

So sorry to hear your Dad is worse but so pleased you sold your house without all the hassle and upset you had last time.

Good luck with the move…as Pat said the answer is to delegate!

nice to see you back, take care,

Take it easy with the moving Cath - I’ve just moved recently and it was very draining!

Take care.

Nice to see you back Cath.

As all above say. Take it easy with the move. Do you have people helping you? Get as many as you can.

Sorry to hear that your Dad is worse. Glad that you all have better living space for your needs.

Thanks Everyone.

I’ve decided to get a proper removal company to move me as all I have to do is put my belongings into boxes, which they provide, so I’m not running around looking for them, and they’ll pick everything up and take it into the right things on the other side. All my boxes will be well marked and a list written of exactly what’s in each one.

I know this isn’t as easy as it sounds but I have six weeks to do it with help from friends, though we’ll need to help mum too. Dad is going in the hospice for respite for a week while we move too which is helpful.

It’s good to hear from you again, I’ve missed you all.

Thanks J. Fortunately I have about 6-8 weeks to pack so it’s not as bad as it seems, and an enthusiastic 18 year old daughter to help. I wish I could go to sleep and wake up with the move over but that isn’t going to happen, so I’m going to see this as a positive experience where I can sort out my possessions and get rid of the stuff I neither want or need. As I’ve lived here for 15 years and I’m a terrible hoarder this can only be a good thing.

Hi Cath

Sorry to hear that your Dad’s not so good, such a worry for you, hopefully moving into a flat and with help will improve not only his experience, but also be a great help for you and your Mum.

I hope both their move and yours will go smoothly, and that all of you delegate as much as you can. Sounds like a good idea using the professional movers, that will take a lot of the hassle for you.

Take care
