Just wondered how many of us suffer from internal tremors that feel like a fluttering inside. I have been getting them on and off since 2005 and I remember thinking it was my heart at the bginning but after speaking with my neuro it seems to be a common symptom in MS.
I get this sensation too. It feels like what I can only describe as a jar full of bees buzzing around in my shoulder. I mainly get these at night. I spoke to my MS Nurse and she said it was a tremor and likely related to the MS.
Its not painful for me- just a little reminder of the MS as sometimes I forget running around…

I get the buzzing everywhere, it drives me nuts. It feels really weird in my hands when I’ve done too much…like a pulsing kind of buzzing. Bit like an electric shock really.
i’m so glad you posted this shazzie, this is what i get all the time, hard to decribe it,ive never told anyone this because i get anxious when i try explaining some of my weird symptoms.
i’m gutted i never told my neuro about all my weird symptoms, including the ms hug thing i get,all i told him about was the pain problems, neck, back, foot,no wonder he proberly thinks theres nothing wrong with me and said most my symptoms werent neurological, next time i see him i will try and explain to him about all my strange n weird things going on
But i find it so so hard explaining the weird things it makes me anxious
I get the buzzing thing too. Like you say Jen. The buzzing in the head and shoulders. Also Noreen I agree that it feels like I am having electric shocks.
One minute I think am having a heart attack because of the Hug then I think I might be having a stroke because of the strange sensations in the head. It’s not good is it?
Sometimes I have to keep saying to myself that I do have MS and all these things seem to come with it.
Thanks for your replies. It is really interesting to see how many of us suffer with these strange sensations.
Hi shazzie In the summer I kept feeling like I was having palpitations and really shaky then because they thought my drop foot and entire right side wasn’t working due to stress the put me on propanalol which has stopped it if I don’t take within a few days the feeling like I’m shaking starts over and I’m not anxious now. Was doing stupid stuff like wiping a work surface that would set it off And I had buzzing in my legs which died down when I took pregabilin I don’t want mountains of pills but it makes me feel vaguely normal.
Hi, The internal fluttering is something I definitely recognise. I always have a tremor in my right hand, but generally not too bad and I can hide it. At the moment I’m relapsing though and feel like the whole of my body is shaking like a leaf. It feels like the tremor is in my chest, my breath, my very soul! Hate the feeling, but glad to know I’m not alone. It was the same with my previous relapse but neuro put it down to anxiety Take care, Gilly xxx
I sometimes think the sensations I feel in my left hand/arm are worse after holding my mobile for any length of time, which if I’m honest can be quite a while if texting or on Facebook, or holding on to iPad. I did mention it to my MS nurse but she says it wouldn’t make any difference. Anyone else noticed this? Jan
Yes, I experience that too. I think it’s do with posture and holding things in a fixed position for long periods of time…happens to me a lot when internet shopping…doesn’t stop me though
why do neuro always try and blame stress or been anxious,my neuro tried saying it was stress, when i was getting tremors,i was 110% it wasnt stress with me as i knew it was just part of my many symptoms, infact i even found some symptoms amusing…neuros need to learn its them who give us the stress by blaming stress when we know its not…sorry rant over
