How many have seen their MRI images?

Hehehe!! Stuart. God knows what they saw on mine!!

Shazzie xx

Glad you are doing well Mark.

Perhaps Tracey could contact Information Governance Office to see if they can find her MRI.

What do you think Tracey?

Thanks for the info Mark and congrats again.

Hi Shazzie, love your avatar, what a beauty, is that ‘shepherdess’? Alison x

Hiya Alison

This is Charlie, our German Shepherd. We got him from the German Shepherd Rescue and he is a real handsome boy. Very loyal and a big softie. But don’t tell anyone just in case we need him to look tough!! Hehehe.

Hi, yes i saw mine, 7 lesions which show as white patches. Neuro still dismissed me as depressed though. Mine was private so they gave me the isc to take with me to any appointments, been quite useful to show other specialists i am seeing to try and get to the bottom of what is wrong with me.

Hi shazzie,

I sent off to the hospital where I had them done a letter asking for a copy on dvd, paid for it and received same a few weeks later. It was so facinating, I could see where my lesions were and why I got a confirmation of my diagnosis of ms. Sadly I had one done beforehand a few years earlier but those mri results were missing so I couldnt compare. But I knew after asking neuro my lesion load had gone from 3 to 9, hence RRMS as some lesions had healed but were still visible only in a different hue.

I would advise you to do the same, although I understand each hospital department can charge differing amounts. Just ring up the hospital in question, state when you had your mri and theyll send you a form to complete before sending you a copy for you to view. After all its our body and we have a right to see what neuros are talking about.

Best wishes

bren

Shazzie, please don’t tell Charlie I thought he was a girl! He does look handsome, we had a GSD he was called Reg, big softie too, when he wanted to be, he had some markings on his forehead that made him look puzzled most of the time.Gone from one extreme to the other, now just got Mr Woo, the Chinese crested, they were quite a double act. By the way yes I saw my MRI and as someone else has said was a bit disturbed by the eyes! quite spooky! Alison x

It doesn’t really matter now. I don’t suppose they would mean much to me. The neuro has seen the one of my brain and my spine and assured me that the lesions were there and that they corresponded to my symptoms. All I know is that it proves I have a brain and I’m not spineless lol! (Actually I think my previous boss can vouch for the fact that I’m not spineless as I had to stand up to her a few times.)

Tracey

I’ve seen mine in the neuros office when he pointed out the lesions to me, and then the changes in the one I had done a year later but I didn’t get any copies to take home.

Iv seen my MRIs. It was really interesting to see but had to laugh as my scars are level with my eyes so it looked like a crab without legs! I was tempted to ask for a copy so i might do at my next appointment.

Oh Maude. I won’t tell him so he won’t get a complex. He is sat down in the avatar so you can’t see his man dog bits!! We are thinking of getting him a little friend as sometimes he looks a bit lonely.

Shazzie xx

That’s alright then Tracey. Like you say it wouldn’t make much difference to see them now but by a lot of the replies to this post they seem really interesting to see.

Shazzie xx

Oh Bunnythecat

I hope you get some sort of d/x soon. It is horrible when you know something is wrong but have to wait for d/x.

Take care

Shazzie xx

Thanks Bren

I will contact my hospital I think to get a copy if they have one.

Shazzie xx

Thanks for replying Floopy. Funny how some people were offered copies and some of us haven’t even seen them.

Shazzie xx

Hi Sammiejo

A crab without legs. Funny!!!

Shazzie xx

I have a couple of big envelopes of films from 1999 under the spare bed. Never looked at them, though. They got me dx, so they’ve done their job.

These days the neuro points to the exciting bits of more recent MRIs on his PC monitor. Such is progress.

Alison

Its amazing how I can look at my MRI images I can go in through one side of my head right through my head a little bit at a time at out the other side and I can go in the top of my head and right down to the base of skull and I can see right down into my spine I didn’t know what I was looking for till I sat down with my friend and she showed me what I’m looking for and explained them to me I could see the lesions the first few MRI’s showed loads of lesions but the latest one shows only a few
