Hi has anyone ever seen the image results of their MRI ??
Hi Kim, Yeah, got 'em all on CD. Pretty amazing being able to see your own brain and all that. However, I still can’t spot the lesions by myself, despite having them pointed out to me in the neuro’s office. There are literally hundreds of pictures, and possibly only a very few “slices” show lesions, so you’ve got to be eagle-eyed to see them - and know what you’re looking for. On the plus side, my brain did NOT look like Swiss cheese, so it’s quite a relief the damage isn’t graphic, although I accept, to a trained eye, it’s there. Tina x
Thanks Tina thats interesting. Iv always known i have lessions on the brain but only recently discovered that I also have them on the spine apparently since 2004. Just makes me wonder what else docs arent telling me. Can I get them straight from the MRI unit or do I have to go through Neuro??
Thanks again Tina
xx
Kim, I got them on the spot, before leaving the building after the scan. It only took them about 15 or 20 minutes to prepare the CD. This was in a BUPA hospital, mind you, but I was led to believe there was some kind of new ruling that meant all patients should get a copy. Something to do with if you need to transfer to another hospital? They are allowed to charge a small fee, but BUPA, surprisingly, didn’t. Probably didn’t need to, as they were getting so many thousands from my insurance company already. I expect they could afford to chuck in one CD as a goodwill gesture. I don’t know how you go about reclaiming images from a scan that was done in the past. Maybe contact the neuro’s secretary, and ask how you apply for a copy? Tina x
