I always get mine frm the Post Office.

MS Society was double the premium of the following http://www.the-insurance-surgery.co.uk/

As usual you have to study the policy wording.

Hi anonymous. I have used JS Insurance in the past and they were very reasonable. HTH

I recently got travel insurance to cover me and husband for a year Worldwide.

As well as my MS I have a gistory of other health issues and my OH has his own set of health baggage issues too :frowning:

I got quotes through Money Supermarket (I think you can do it through the other quotation sites too). I put our information in and it generated a number of separate quotes from different companies which was great because I didn’t have to do it on multiple individual company sites.

Mine eventually came through TravelExtras.com (the cover is underwritten by Mapfre assistance) they are both very kosher companies. 12 month Multip Trip worldwide for both of us came out at £180 which I thought was very good. for what we needed. All our medical conditions are recorded as being declared.

If we had been just needed cover for 1 trip it would have been much less and if we had excluded the US etc it would have been much less too.

Our bank travel insurance included with our bank account will allow MS to be declared without invalidating the policy. They then give you the choice of accepting that you are not covered by any claim related to MS or paying an additional fee to have MS covered.

The problem with all insurance is that you only really find out what is covered when you make a claim however if you take out a policy without declaring MS you are at risk of having the whole policy invalidated for not declaring a material fact so there is really no point taking out a policy without declaring it.

So like most things it is just about shopping around for the best deal.

In general over the years I have found banks to be better for arranging travel insurance to include pre-existing conditions.

I have always found this strange because profit from insurance is a good add on for either tour companies or travel agents, travel agents are always keen to sell you their insurance for this reason. You would have thought they would welcome your business with open arms and take the extra commission on a slightly higher premium. It is not as though pre-existing conditions are that rare.
